Just got this in from eBay for $69.95. Wow! Puts to shame a red laser. Outdoors,(overcast today)I can put the dot on a tree, at near 100 yards and see it quite clearly. Indoors, you can see the beam, much like a Star Wars light sword. I have not mounted it on a rifle yet,but if it holds windage and elevation, varmints will be in a world of hurt....specially skunks that dig up my yard at night, looking for grubs or something. The green dot actually illuminates a small area around the object aimed at. No more clumsy flash light and iron site skunk dispatching..........

I believe I am correct that this is precisely why the military and law enforcement don't use green lasers. Green is more easily seen by the eye than red. It allows "targets" to see the point of origin.

It's also the reason most laser light shows use green lights.

I think you're safe unless you're skunks come armed.

I wouldn't use it for home defense.

"Aim small, miss small" Yeah...some of my collection of local, state, regional and national level trophies. Most from open iron sight long range events. The sight is only a tool for the mind, no matter it be a laser, scope or iron..... Ft_bstrd ,you are very correct. It definitely "shows the way" to the source....but the skunks around here don't care. At night they seem to not be bothered by visitors in close proximity..........maybe they are rabid. The worst part is getting rid of the damned things.........kinda tacky to leave them lay around.......

That's awesome!
I remember when green lasers were $200 without anything else.
I am probably going to get an AR10 or something in the coming year and would love to have something like this.

If you remember, there were reports of green lasers (and red lasers) after 911 being shone in the eyes of incoming airline pilots.

The concern was that some nefarious group had the 1995 treaty banned blinder lasers (google Dazzler Laser).

They operate at the 532 nm wavelength and were originally developed by DARPA.

So do make sure that you kill these skunks PRIOR to hitting them in the eyes in order to remain within the letter of the law of the treaty.

I'm surprised that these are being sold in the open without restriction.

Not to worry about the eye damage. The thing is a mere 5mW. The hard core Dazzler is of at least 500mW..........just a tad bit more power. The laser in your DVD burner has more power than this thing.I always wanted a laser powerful enuf to warm up a can of beer on an unsuspecting "victim" .......but quickly found that a laser with that much power and range was in the realm of ten grand AND you had to have a license and you had to use goggles to keep from hurting yourself too........
