I had the opportunity this afternoon to test ride the CR. Before I get into into my thoughts, I want to give some Kudos.

Thank you Scott, Chris, Trann, and David at Cycle Connection for giving me the opportunity to test ride the CR. Cycle Connection is the leading Buell dealer in their district and it shows. They had a great selection and were more than willing to help. If you have the opportunity to do business with these folks, please do. They are a class act.

Now back to the review.

Many have posted their comments and reactions to the CR, so I'm sure mine wont be that original. My first response to Trann when I he asked what I though was "Dirty Nasty". That bike is everything I have come to love about my XB plus an entire extra large bag of pissed off hell on wheels. The Helicon motor is fantastic. This is the first time I had had the chance to really stretch the legs on one (ahem extra dialed down demo ride at Inside Pass leader). The power delivery was everything my XB is with all the top end rush that my XB isn't. The bike only had 100 miles on it, so I expect that it will loosen up a bit as it gets more miles on the clock. That said, it became a little vibey and raspy toward the upper end of the power band. I didn't notice this when I test rode the 1125R at Barber (in second gear).

The transmission is really smoothe. I almost missed my agricultural "thunk". Almost.

The slipper clutch is fantastic. It's nice not to have to rev match before the down shift. I was unable to get any sort of rear wheel hop. It was fantastic.

The four pot braking system was unexpectedly effective. I've thought the XB brakes were pretty good. The four pot system WILL throw you over the handlebar if you grab a handful.

The peg position was pretty good. I might prefer a slightly lower peg just to give an inch more legroom. The seat felt pretty good. I don't know if it would become torturous on longer runs or not, but I didn't notice it being excessively firm and harsh.

The handlebar position is fine with the Clubmans, but I would definitely want the high bar kit instead. I would also like to have just a little more leverage on the bars. Not that I NEED it, but it's what I am used to and would want to replicate more of an S seating position.

The 11% lower gearing made the bike seem stronger than the 1125R. I would have to get used to the gear and RPM match up. It felt best to cruise at 5,000 RPMs. In 6th gear, that would seem to be in the ticket range without a doubt.

Overall, I LOVE this bike. I think it will have to be on the short list of next bikes to buy. I love the looks and the performance is outstanding.

Thanks again Cycle Connection crew. You made it a pleasure to shop in your store. You are the model of what a Buell shopping experience should be.

PS. Cycle Connection will be selling off parts and bikes from their racing program. Be on the lookout!

Didn't know I was going to be until I got some slack in the leash.

I will be back in Joplin for Christmas.

I always stop in at Cycle Connection and buy something. Anything. It doesn't matter.

If there is a Buell dealer, I visit it and buy a T-Shirt, a patch, a sticker, a hat. Something.

I hope to get my bike this way some time. I need to see what the roads in NW Arkansas look like.

Bring it, Toots, I'll be ready. Give me a few days notice and I'll try to be off work and show you a couple of roads. You can stop by Pig Trail Harley/Buell and kick over a row of Buells to get noticed, then maybe buy a shirt if they have one.

Oooh, while you're here you can purchase one of them there Honda cars you've been dreaming of from me. : D

I'm thinking about keeping her Sequoia and trading in my Acura TL. May have to come see you.
