Is it me, or has this become the XBadweb? Don't get me wrong....love the XB's but we all don't own one. I've owned my M2 for 2 years and I feel like it's a relic! Well, I'm off to the Knowledge Vault where I'm appreciated (sniff!) |

I own a S2 and a XB, I feel the XB’s is what the tube frames should have been. The technology was there at the time. Test ride an XB, you may even get one! |

Well, what do you expect? That's all that's made now, and look how many new Buellers there are because of the XBs! Of course the majority of the talk nowadays would have switched to the new chassis. The tubers have been wrung out as far as new topics go. Hell, even the XBoard is seeing a rash of rehashing the same topic over and over again already. |

You are absolutely correct about the rehashing of the same topics. Terrible that the Xber’s can’t find anything to whine about over and over again.

I still love my tuber!!!!! And she is damm reliable too - with a little TLC. My biggest complaint with the tuber is I can't keep a rear tire on it!!!! |

nah Its still a pure buell board. Its just not that many Tuber owners are posting much. which in my mind means they are busy enjoying their bikes. as are the exb'ers but its still new and exciting to the new owners. I loved my tubers that I have owned, especially my M2. But the xb's are here and there ya go. its probably the same on other manufacture boards , what with all the models that have come out. Just the eb and flow of it all. |

Actually Kirk has a valid point. Look how many "newbies" are on the boards with their brand new XB's. Seems like the more they post, the less the old time tube owners do. Also doesnt seem like their is a lot of crossover. You have the folks on both sides who love their bikes & yet really arent interested in changing or updating. A few here actually own both styles, but by & large the XB's have definetely taken over. |

as one would expect, the new bikes are generating most of the ink (bytes?), as folks learn abouit them . . . . . . still lots of good data on the tubers here . . . that knowledge will continue to grow and be refined, I'm thinkin |

Still makes me chuckle when I hear "tuber" and think of the "potato-potato" engine. Look at the Arizona thread, four bikes showed up, all XB's, and Arizona is renouned for dealershipitis. |

I didn't realize there was a problem. This site was a major factor in me buying a Buell. I wanted a brand new bike. If I wanted a Buell, I had three choices. I don't think ExBeez are taking over as much as the new Buell owners have arrived... |

My dream bike is still a tuber. I like the XB's, but the M2 is just incredible. Maybe someday... |

Glitch, I don't think the XB invasion is a problem, just someone all of a sudden opened their eyes are realized, like, wow, where'd all these new people on these new bikes come from all of a sudden. No problem, just a longer wait for the restroom is all. |

Glitch, I am in agreement with you about this site being the reason I got an S2. In my opinion, the XB12's are't staying on the show room floor very long. Has anyone seen any sales figures? |

I'd been looking at Buells for years but the planets didn't align until the XB came into being. Unfortunately it's a lot easier to finance a new bike/car than a used one. Being an old XLCH/XLCR rider myself I'm still intrigued with the possibility of owning a tube frame model some day but right now I'm a one bike family. Now if I get in the market and a nice touring model shows up I might have to grab one and begin the tinkering that always seems to follow. I understand where the old timers are coming from though, it's like owning a Buell isn't as unique and special as it used to be with all the new blood pouring in. The increased sales and acceptance of Buells is something to celebrate but it's also the end of an era for those that have been behind BMC from the early years. When it's all said and done I just want to say thank you to everyone that has adopted me into this fraternity. I feel like I am in very good company. |

Hey, I wasn't downing the Exbee's or their riders or anything! It's just that the tubers had (have!) a mystique about 'em...Nobody knew what the hell a Buell was, let alone what it could do (myself included!) When I rode one, it was like discovering a new planet. I think the greatest appeal(looks and sound notwithstanding!)was the fact that it DIDN'T appeal to the GenXer's and the rice rocket set. "Definitely Different"... Now the Exbees are the darlings of every sportbike rag in print. Kinda takes the fun out of it all. So, much as I appreciate what they've done with the XB I'll hang on to the tuber just to be different. Because I can. I envy some of you guys with the S1's and S2/S3's. They are still so incredibly boss looking- a T Rex in a crocodile world. Maybe I'll buy an Exbee someday, but I'll never dump the M2. And I'm not against the XB guys writing; the more the merrier! I've just noticed fewer and fewer tubers posting since the XB12 launched. Maybe we should start a dinosaur thread for the tube heads? |

There's only been one Buell that I ever really really wanted, the Millenium X1 Lightning. I didn't want to pay the new price for it (because I hate depreciation!), so I finally picked up a completely stock low mileage model this past October. It's the only Buell I've ever ridden, and I haven't seen an XB yet that I would trade it for. Part of the fun of the Buells (especially the pre-XB ones) is that it is oftentimes days -or weeks- before I see another one on the street. Mike M |

I don't know what I would do if I saw another Buell(of any vintage)on the highways around here. I'm afraid I would have my first wreck, trying to turn around to say, "Hello!" I saw a couple of Ducatis recently and I greeted their owners like they were long-lost lovers. It was kind of like a farm boy on a tractor seeing Sophia Loren at the edge of a pasture. They probably thought I was or or I'm like the Maytag repair man out here So can I get a honorary membership in the We Were Buell Before It Was Cool Society? edited by bradj on December 13, 2003 |

OK Bryan, now if you've caught your breath... 1) Number of bikerag articles I've read on the XB's over the last 2 years; 4. 2) Number of negative reports I've read over the last 2 years; 0. 3) Number of bikerag articles I've read about tubers over the last 4 years; 1. 4) Number of negative reports I've read about tubers over the last 4 years; 1. Not counting Battle2win, of course! Maybe we don't read the same rags. That's one of the reasons I was attracted to Buells in the first place...everyone I talked to hated them. So I knew they couldn't be that bad! Anyway you look at it, tuber or not, a Buell's a Buell. I just hope they don't get so mainstream that people won't gape at stoplights anymore. And all you M2 jockeys know what I'm talking about. |

LOL...I just think it was funny that I read that comment by you right after reading about how that Stark fellow in Motorcyclist called the XB12 the 'worst bike he'd ever ridden'. There have plenty of non-glowing reports concerning the XB series since they came out. They are, as you noted, much better received than the tubers, though. |

Fear not Captain, The SQUIDs are not attacking!!! Here's a link to an entire thread discussing how little respect the XB's are getting in the mainstream. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/32777/41683.html?1071540947 Buell will remain "Different in every sense"! |

I can truthfully say that my S1 is here to stay for the forseeable future. Still a jaw dropper and a head turner. Even pulled into Jones HD in Little Rock the other day, nearly emptied the cafe. Now will I add an XB to the stable, more than likely in a couple years. Next fall though is reserved for finding a S2.

I'm assuming it was a friendly and inquisitive crowd that came out of the Hawg Diner, and not an angry mob carrying torches? Wish I had been there... two resident Buells in one place in AR (other than a showroom). What a glorious sight |
