First off Hello guys. It has been awhile since i have been here. I hope everybody has kept the rubber side down. My bike has had these issues for awhile but I haven't been riding it much due to my hectic work schedule. I plan on working on the bike this winter. My Neutral light is not working on my dash. My bike seems to be having trouble getting into neutral. When i put down the kick stand the bike dies. Even in neutral this happens. The clutch cable has never been adjusted. The bike likes to slightely lurch forward as i am trying to start it despite the fact i am holding in the clutch. Any help would be appreciated. Regards Mike | ||

First check you bulb, replace your tranny fluid, adjust your clutch cable and adjust your primary tensioner. You will also need to replace or remove and wire the kick stand safety switch and you might as well do the clutch saftey switch while you are at it... | ||

Ah another kick stand switch failure, thats like the 5th one this month. Delete that useless failure prone government friendly "feature". | ||

Clutch safety switch will prevent you from starting your bike in gear. Because of the other issues with his bike, it thinks its in gear and won't let him start  | ||

I don't believe the early M2s had this switch, Frogger...although I might certainly be mistaken. | ||

Mike, first off congrats on getting one of, if not the best Buell models ever made. Second, as I was once in very similar shoes, someone on this site suggested getting an owners manual and with a nice learning curve you can do just about any repairs to the M2 by yourself. That was true, I am by no means a very mechanically knowledgable person but I consider on of my greatest acheivements with my M2 is doing the basics. I had to change the rocker box gaskets and with the help of the KV here was able to do so. The teflon pad on the chain tensioner wedged into the shifting mechanism and I was able to take care of that. So my advice, for what it is worth, is to get the owners manual and have fun getting to know your M2 this winter. M2statz | ||
