"Ad Astra per Aspera" . . . Latin for "To the starts through difficulty".

If you are waiting on someone to officially say "it's okay to put that on a shirt with attribution". . . . you'll be right behind men on mars and the cure for cancer.

The days of Howie crossing the S1 up and slipping away . . .

But far be it from me to simply get ahold of the t-shirt folks and "Just Do It".

: )

I like Erik's quote about the S-1
Something to the affect
'Its a real hooligan, a bike you can ride anywhere, a bike you can go ride in the field if you want'
Paraphrasing but that was the essence of it.

Don't laugh . . . somewhere I have photos of an old factory test mule (B-031) that I used to ride off road around Perry Reservoir in the winter of 1996 just to see how I could hammer it.

It was called the "Bathroom Bike" . . remind me to tell you sometime . . .

The problem is that RRW participates here at Willow, they zealously guard their copyrights and all they are asking is to review the design. I figured I owed Erik and Shawn the same courtesy.

See, for me, I actually KNOW all the people from whom I'd be "borrowing" images, names, attributions/quotations... plus I s'pose I was just raised differently.

There is no "use by" or "born on" date for an expression that is pretty timeless. A couple weeks delay becomes critical if it is tied to something on the calendar but SHEESH Court, this is the internet and it seems like if there is not INSTANT gratification, then there is NO GRATIFICATION... and I'm a little more respectful of people's intellectual property than most folks it seems.

Heck, I've got an image from 25 Years of Buell that I color photocopied and pinned outside my cubicle of the RW750. I wouldn't consider putting that same image on a t-shirt and then selling it without getting Whitehorse Press, Canfield and Gess' permission... (but that's just me)

now let's talk internet porn and instant gratification and maybe we've got a moneymaker here!!! (oh wait a minute, I think I may have waited a little too long on that idea)

I have Court's next book idea.

Every time he writes (or thinks) "remind me to tell you"...he needs to jot that snippet down in a journal, blog, Word file, whatever. Keep it raw, unfiltered, "unrefined". When he's got enough content to fill the space between 2 covers...send it off to be published : )

If this guy was the "buddy who races", got a feeling he'd ask EB, "who the is Shawn Higbee??"

Actually it's very unlikely Troy would be your buddy or any of the other a**holes who say that, and I'll bet he does know who Shawn is since Shawn was a factory Ducati rider. Squids and twits everywhere.

Actually, Bayliss didn't start with Duc until 2000, Higbee was long gone by then and Bayliss rode out of the Vance and Hines Ducati team here in the US, Higbee rode for Duc Italy, so they never actually rode as team members.
