Just got out of seeing it. I have to say I REALLY like the new direction. There are very few gadgets, no snarky comments. He sweats. He bleeds. His clothes get wrinkled.

It's just better. If Living Daylights was the worst Bond ever, I'd have to say the latest two Bonds are the best we've seen since Connery.

I don't even mind that he's blond.

Saw it last night at this time..at a pre-release showing..

If you go see it, make sure you watch Casino Royal first..or you will be lost on the characters

I usually wait for movies to come out on DVD and even when I do go to the theater it's never on opening day, but...

I'm going to QoS tonight and I'm darned amped about it, too. It's heresy, I know, but based solely on Casino Royale I'm ready to hand Daniel Craig the crown as Best Bond Evah.

I agree with Ft_b, Living Daylights (and all the Dalton flicks, really) were the low point in the franchise. It's been an unexpected pleasure to see the character reborn in this new (and yet more true to the original Fleming) grittier direction.

Even if he is blond.

I agree w/FB-
I've yet to see QOS, But I plan on it. Holly and I saw Casino Royale about 3 times in a row on a Zurich-NY flight, I've been hooked ever since.
Brilliant stuff, can't wait to see Quantum.

I didn't want to cross into the heretical, but I believe Sean Connery would tip his hat to the newest torch bearer. I even will go so far as to say that Judy Dench is the best "M".

When John Glease was "Q", I knew we'd reached the end of the line. Bond had become a parody of itself.

I haven't seen QoS yet, but I loved Casino Royale. I agree Daniel Craig is the best since the original. In fact, I think the new Bond is a more believable character than any including the original.

Maybe the wife and I will make it to the theater tomorrow afternoon.

I absolutely agree, FB.

and not to raise you a heresy, but I actually have a tough time deciding which 007 truly is better- we were all raised on Sean, who deserves the crown, but Craig does a great job keeping 007 close to his proper working-class roots...none of that limpwristed Roger Moore BS....

Egad watching Roger Moore running was like watching a geriatric patient. I kept waiting for him to break his hip.

I really wished they had continued with that theme. I thought Kilmer did a really good job.

That and I'd drink Elisabeth Shue's bath water.

Bullsh*t. Roger Moore rocks. He was an icon of cool in his age.
I gave up Bond when they tried to make it 'realistic'.
Which was about the same time I gave up movies and television.
Don't miss them at all. There is so much interesting factual info and learning to be done since the IT revolution there's no need for fiction - or room for it anyways.

There must be some gadgets. Even the real spies use them, although I agree the old Bond films relied too heavily on them and were way over the edge.

You're such an ass - Tramp. I never stated I was a "spook". Why don't you navigate your little fingers away from the BadWeb and out onto the World Wide Web and look-see for yourself. It's common knowledge. Grow the f*** up.

The next time you're in McLean Virginia why don't you stop in at the CIA and see the collection for yourself. They used to have a small museum there. Perhaps, they will give you a cavity search when you attempt to breach the grounds lol

If Elizabeth Shue mistakenly enters my home, thinking it's the spook museum, does she, also, qualify for said toss?
