FVB- I appreciate your posting, and I'm certain it more-than corroborates your gadget statement. that being said, what would cause you to call someone you've never met an "ass"? Is this the sort of determination you used when you told an iraq vet on this site that he would have fit in well in the wehrmacht? maybe you should work on your snap-statements. Maybe it's time you try to converse with folks on this site as you would were you to be sitting a table with them. Now, if you were making those statements with a grin on your face, shame on me. I fully condone silly statements made with well-meaning sarcasm. I tend to think this might be the case, and, if I offended you with my comments, i sincerely apologize, as these, too, were made as they'd be over a table, with a well-meaning grin |

FVB, No need to jump Tramp's ass. I didn't read that he was stating that the CIA doesn't use gadgets, but the last I checked, I don't think the CIA uses Jet Packs, or Lotus that turn into submarine, or watches with repelling line and grappling hook. The knife in the shoe or secret decoder ring, yes. Yes the CIA uses gadgets. I believe the gadget set utilized in Casino Royale was cool and yet realistic. He didn't have a semi pop a wheelie or roll a jet plane out of a horse trailer. I like fantasy, but I believe the fantasy genre Bond franchise had run it's course. They may push back that direction in the future, but right now I believe the dose of realistic is quite welcome. (Message edited by ft_bstrd on November 15, 2008) |

tramp - What i was interested in was if anyone else had 'turned' the way I have. I used to watch movies, television and was even interested in cars. Until I had the option to not be interested in those things that came with the internet and cable and the ability to choose my own data streams. Now I spend that time on my own programming and adventures and have no interest in anything at all fictional. |

I'm a Discover channel nerd. I HATE reality TV. I have to say that I am also a complete and total Battlestar Galactica fan. |

Maybe there's a saturation point. I reached it about ten years ago. It's not reality TV - it's unscripted TV. Never done that either. Now I'd rather learn how to do something or read some history or even dribble online than sit through 2 hours of Hollywood. |

Despite the weirdness of some posts above, the picture of Elisabeth Shue moves this thread to silver status. Good Lord what a gorgeous woman. Does she ride? If so, move the status to gold. |
