Good luck Ferris. Rotator cuff was part of what I did to myself in July...it will heal, just give it time. Mine's already around 90%....but you gotta listen to your nurse Take care! | ||

thx all. slipped and fell on the front deck about five weeks ago, in the rain, landed really hard on my right side. fought the pain for a bit, then caved and made the trip to the ER. nothing to speak of on x-ray, but subsequent MRI confirmed a full-thickness RC tear plus associated bone meal. yes, surgery, open (vs. scope), several hours or so under the knife we're told, plus an overnight hospital stay. that, i think, will be the easy part. rehab will take many months, we're told, possibly into next summer, during which time i cannot initially use my right (dominant) arm. we took a spin up to Mabry Mill on the RK on Sunday, a glorious fall day on the Parkway, and certainly my last bit of riding for a while. thx for the well wishes, and offers of help - very much appreciated. Denise and i are as ready as we can be. the surgery is tomorrow morning sometime (won't know exactly when until later today); i'd appreciate some extra karma sent our way, especially for Denise - she's been taking superb care of me, and will definitely have her hands full in the coming months. take care y'all, FB | ||

I've been following Ferris's little excursion off the porch at the Ridge Dome for several weeks now. Tough deal, especially when you're a biker and outdoorsman like him. Is there such a thing as a good voodoo doll? I's thinkin' I might make a Ferris voodoo doll and stick him the bike and take him for a ride.
