Since the election was called people have been streaming out from all over Seattle.
I currently have several thousand people outside my building.
According the news, I have several more thousand coming.

The news helicopters are everywhere.

What a crazy night.

This type of celebration is usually for a sports team after winning a championship, but we wouldn't know anything about winning sports teams in Seattle!

Seattle is one of those cities I've never visited...
I've been to Rainier via Lewis (ski time w/1/75), but no Seattle.
Dame for Boston, as weird as that always sounds to people.
I've honestly flown in and out of Pago Pago, Jakarta, etc., but have never visited Boston or Seattle.

Even though Obama was not my candidate of choice, I have to admit, it's nice to see so many people in America so excited for a winning candidate.

I'm thrilled that there won't be a long, drawn-out series of lawsuits and whining. (Well, there will probably still be some whining.)

I'm also proud that once again, America has changed leaders peacefully, unlike so many countries in this world.

And I sincerely hope that Obama can do all those things he said he can. All I can do is hope now, and when it all hits him, I hope he maintains his awesomely cool exterior under the tremendous pressure he's about to feel.

Good luck Obama. Prove me wrong PLEASE!!! We need good leadership!

I have to admit, it's nice to see so many people in America so excited for a winning candidate.

It's like Christmas to them..waiting to see what handout they get next. I cant post the comments I was bombarded with at work last nite but they all support my above statement.

When the guy acknowledges the American Flag and recites the Pledge he will gain a small portion of my respect, untill then....

That's what happens when a class act loses. A class act will be gracious even in defeat.

...and in this case, I don't think there was a loser. John McCain showed himself to be every bit of a TRUE maverick American patriot, and more.
I think that McCain will be very involved in this great nation's work, hence, and I also think that either candidate could have served the other well as a VP.
These candidates conducted themselves with decency and dignity, and both deserve our support and respect.
The president-elect did NOT fail, in his speech, to remind America of the true public servant American hero John McCain is.

John McCain is still the man he was yesterday. The election proves, well, hopefully anyway, that there were simply more people in this country who agreed with Obama's stance on many things than did agree with McCain.

Still doesn't necessarily make either side wrong or right, although I still happen to personally disagree with the Obama supporters - a few in particular more than others.

I still think he's wrong about the economy. And I think his plan to use more diplomatic approaches to solve the middle east crisis is, well, at best naive, at worst, misguided. But, I hope it works.

He won, guys. Although maybe not on this board, MOST of the people in America should be rejoicing - they're getting what (they think) they want.

And we'll know in a few months whether he is truly a man of integrity and keeps his promises, or turns out to be just like every other politician who has said lots of crazy things to get elected and then does whatever he wants.

Time will tell. But either way, he won. Lets not be bitter. At least, lets do something a bit more constructive then bitching? As someone said, a class act will be gracious even in defeat.

I never quite "got" hockey. It seems like a pretty cool activity though. My friend used to date a girl who played on hockey a league though. She was a hot little brunette, and all the time on the ice did great things to her a$$. Based on that limited experience, I have nothing but positive feelings toward the sport.

I have never seen such an anti climatic let down. There really NEEDS to be election campaign time limits on the whole cr@papoolooza. Two years is entirely too long.
Now that its over, lets all go spend some money. Preferabley on motorcycles, realestate and more more motorcycles.
(PS The east side of the State still doesnt understand when or why we became a BLuE state)

I don't think this has anything to do with the election, it has to do with SAM turning on that obnoxious blue light.
