I just got back from Vegas. I did some riding every day I was there on a Ultra Classic.
It was the only bike they had left that I could plug my GPS into. I wanted a V-Rod but nothing they had came with a battery tender on it.... so all the time I spent making a pig tail before I went was for not.
Let me just say the Uly is a much easier bike to ride, control and I don't think I have every bottomed out the suspension like I did on the Ultra.....

GPS, If you ever thought about getting a GPS.... DO IT!! I can't say enough about how easy it is to just plug and play. No searching through maps and trying to remember turns and all that crap. I went to the Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon a couple of times, LV Motor Speedway for the WERA races, Hoover Dam.... all with no planning. Just punch it in and GO.

The real cool thing about the whole trip was I took a ton of pics with my digital camera and I think only 4 stayed on my memory card..... WTF!!! I guess I will need to do it all over again.

SO.....

Ultra Classic....not to bad but its no ULY
GPS.... VERY GOOD
Cheap digital camera that came with my printer.... VERY BAD!!

+1 for GPS. I can plan a route on my computer using all the backroads, and then upload it to the unit. I've found some really great roads that way.

Or you can just ride all day anywhere, then plug "Home" in the GPS and head back.

Mark,

Download Recuva (google it) and try using it on your memory card to see if those photos are still there!

+1 on gps. I normally just go ride my butt off. If I find a nice road, I mark it so I can find it again later. and then when I feel like heading home. Just mash the find home button, And away I go.

Sometimes I miss getting lost and attempting to find my way home. But with a real family now I find I like to know where I am : )

Mark, What no trip to the Bunny Ranch?

I thought about stroking one off while I looked at all the lights out my window but sat in bed and watched Star Trek instead....

Maybe next time....

If you bottomed out an Ultra that means you did not have enough air in the shocks. Did you know you can add air to the shocks? If the shocks were properly aired up it is almost impossible to bottom out an ultra with just a single rider on it.

Yeah, I had a Road Thing for a few years....
I would say it doesn't get all the TLC it needs being a rental... I know I flogged it a few times.... and was disappointed with the results LOL

Just FYI, don't unplug digital cameras from the computer without turning them off first, or disabling the USB connection (green arrow icon @ bottom right of your screen). Very common way to lose all your data by snatching a live connection out.
