VR,my understanding is the serial #'s mean nothing.Only way to be sure is measure.I got an approx measure of 1.53" which means I need a bigger size.Must me measured right at vanes --if you look down throat you will notice it starts to taper in right above the vanes. | ||

Jersey sucks - I got kicked out of there once. The French police was waiting for me when the boat docked back in France. Took me to the station to find out why I'd been kicked out ... of course none of them spoke english (and I don't speak French). So they just sent me on my way - but not until the last train of the day had left the station. Had to camp outside town until next morning. Sorry but in todays market there are simply to many fine motorcycles out there to limit yourself to an unreliable one. That entire "soul" but is dated & tired. The Harley owners started it & the Buellers took it over when they couldnt find anything else worth bragging about. Kick a modern 600 or 1000cc sportbike up to 160-170 mph & you will see that "soul" is way over rated. | ||

FiremamJim,Wouldn't the AR ratio mean something too? I havn't tried to figure that out. The measurement would be difficult. To measure the impeller OD would require dissasssembly(?). What would I compare it to? The people that made these things have to have something  how could they figure out what the different ones fit? | ||

My M2 is as reliable as any thing out there, and more reliable than several bikes I've owned, including a BMW, a couple of Hondas and all of the Britbikes. I won't own a bike I can't trust to take me cross country at the spur of the moment. I don't deny that there were problems with some of the Tubers; I put 60,000 miles on my S3-T, and it was in the shop at least once a month for the entire time I had it. However, Buell both acknowledged and addressed all the problem areas and came up with a bike that's mostly trouble free. According to J.D. Powers, the new Buells are the most reliable and trouble free bikes out there. If people are going to continue to badmouth Buells for past problems, then they should also berate Yamaha for building the TX750, a bike that would destroy its cases once the chain to the balancer shaft stretched, Honda for building the 500 Interceptor with mis-sized big end rod bearings or BMW for building the original GS800 with a clutch that seldom lasted 1,000 miles. One thing I've noticed about a lot of the posters on Buell related sites, is that they love to look a gift horse in the mouth, and they also love to keep beating a dead horse. BTW, Dyna; I have no intention of kicking any bike up to 160-170 MPH. I'm allergic to Jail cells. In the world where I live and ride, I seldom break 100. There isn't a bike out there that feels better than my Buell to me, and that's why I ride one. | ||

VR,the people that build them know exactly what sizes they are building(and there is a bunch of combinations to chose from)they are just not sharing any of that info with the public.Its all state secret stuff.I had all the install paperwork that came with mine and nowhere was the A/R ratio shown. | ||

My M2 has been rock solid. More so than my brothers 2001 GSXR 1000 or his 2003 RC51. The stories I hear about his dealerships makes me want to go hug my service manager. | ||

I have to say that my Buell has been as reliable as all get out...It has had its guts rung out at the dragstrip for 3+ years which comes out to over 500 1/4 mile passes at wide open throttle and hasn't had to have the cases split yet. This is on a STOCK bottom end 74in. with Thunderstorm top end that can run 10.60's with bars at the faster tracks. I guess I got the pick of the litter and will stick with what gets me there... | ||

Over a thousand miles on the track, six races, multiple cross country treks, my Buell keeps on running strong. Rocket, Good call on the 916. When it swallows its own valvetrain I suppose I'll have to withstand hearing you whine about that too. | ||

Blake, if you saw what I saw, you'd realize that it's a miracle that bike didn't break sooner. I have never seen anyone abuse a bike like that and have it keep running. My sweet Mother past away a few weeks ago and I find the waking hours are much harder. I don't sleep much anyway. Being there for her last breath has burned some images into my mind that I feel can never be erased or even blurred with time. I just thank my lucky stars that when I do sleep, I am not haunted by my own tortured mind. Maybe that's what is making me so hateful. Sorry for the bring-down... flaking rockers on ducs are bad joojoo...that said, sometimes a dealer/Ducati will good will replace them/provide parts if owner pays service if they are caught before any internal damage is done...easy bikes to work on, fantastic, extensive and expensive aftermarket support. Ducati has gone the extraordinary step of replacing cracked/broken frames...they ain't perfect but they sure are fun!! Good lookin' too Lets see the pics Rocko!!  | ||
