Why can't people who don't like political threads (if that's actually the issue, and I suppose it's not) just stay out of them?

Besides, we are "custodians" not moderators.

Whatever you have to tell yourself to make it OK...

Both candidates are going to bone this country like never before. One is too old and the other has no clue. Well they both have no clue just one could possibly die and leave an even bigger moron in charge...

Biden . . . under anyone's interpretation . . . . just does not sound the least bit honest in that video. Doesn't, at least to me, it sound like he's a typical politician . . . I mean you can almost see the bs running out his ears. . .

None of these guys would pass even the most rudimentary management tests . . . they just do not seem very smart.

First if there was any truth to Sean Hanity it would be in every news paper in the country and News Channel..

Truth is he's just another phony trying to drum up ratings... There is a reason it's called talk radio and not news radio..

Its not really news, just some one's opinion.

Funny stuff though kinda like the Art Bell Show or those bigfoot guys..

Tedda, Why is it that the MEDIA ie. news papers, tv news stations are sooo happy to go find dirt on JOE the PLUMBER???. Why were they so very happy to sink the fast boat guys who DISAGREED with Kerry??? Why are they trying to get the LIBERALS elected??? It could not be because they are tired of reporting the news and have decided to MAKE the news, COULD IT??? PEOPLE LIKE Sean HANNITY speak the truth about what is really going on. If not for them then we would probably NOT know what Obama really is about. Joe the Plumber just ASKED Obama a QUESTION that he answered with the truth. " Spread the WEALTH AROUND. IT'S GOOD FOR EVERYBODY."
Yeah if you want to live in a SOCIALIST REGIME. I say NO THANKS OBAMA, I ALREADY HAVE A MESSIAH.

I'm going to say it again...

Again, Talk Radio is Opinion based and News is based off actual facts..

I think the biggest reason liberals get so huffy puffy about Sean and Rush is, Sean and Rush tell it like it is and make politics easy to understand. Rush more so than Sean but they give their opinions just like most of the major news organizations do.

Why did Palin get hammered in the media and obama didnt aside from talk radio?

Their biggest argument against Palin is that her clothes cost too much. They dont dare say she doesnt have enough experience. Wonder why?

The difference is that Hannity is viewed as a "commentator" and Matthews and Olbermann are considered "news anchors".

Matthews and Olbermann's statements are viewed as "news" and Hannity's statements are viewed as "opinion".

Hannity at least presents documented recordings, videos, or written statements to back up his "opinions".

Where is there ANY actual information to back this up?

It's a double standard.

You are confused Rocco. The wealth generated from state (publicly owned) resources should absolutely benefit the state (the public who comprise it); that is nothing like taking money from some folks and giving it to others? Take off the blinders.

Awwww why Tedda???? can't answer the questions??? Afraid that the TRUTH will come out?

Well here is something for you to think about.
Raila Odinga was running for president of Kenya. He himself stated, economic reconstruction (not economic recovery), equitable distribution of resources, enactment of the Bomas draft, zero tolerance to coruption, and the fight against poverty would form the basis of his administration.

Gee that kinda sounds like "spread the wealth around" from Obama.

This next bit is from Wikkipedia.

"According his website, Raila lists himself as a social democrat,[20] thus distancing himself from his late father, who was openly socialist. His party, the LDP, is affiliated to the Liberal International."

"His oldest son, Fidel, is named after Fidel Castro[23] and their youngest child, Winnie, is named after Winnie Mandela"

He likes these dictators so much he named his kids after them.

You can't tell me that Odinga is not a liberal, socialist, who only wants the way of Marx, Islamic law, and SOCIALISM.
Take a good look at the people who Obama supports and you will get a pretty good idea of who Obama is and what he really wants for this country.

Here is another one of Obama's friends.
Rashid Khalidi. Khalidi is a harsh critic of Israel, has made statements supportive of Palestinian terror and reportedly has worked on behalf of the Palestine Liberation Organization while it was involved in anti-Western terrorism and was labeled by the State Department as a terror group.
This bit is from wikkipedia on the P.L.O. "Founded by a meeting of 422 Palestinian national figures in Jerusalem in May 1964 following an earlier decision of the Arab League, its goal was the liberation of Palestine through armed struggle.[2] The original PLO Charter (written in 1968) stated that "Palestine with its boundaries that existed at the time of the British mandate is an integral regional unit" and sought to "prohibit... the existence and activity" of Zionism.[3] These are often taken to mean the destruction of Israel"; here's more " The PLO was considered "the richest of all terrorist organizations" with $8-$10 billion in assets and an annual income of $1.5-$2 billion from "donations, extortion, payoffs, illegal arms dealing, drug trafficking, money laundering, fraud, etc.", according to a 1993 National Criminal Intelligence Service report. The Daily Telegraph reported in 1999 that the PLO had $50 billion in secret investments around the world.[6]". Shall we continue??

Sen. GOVERNMENT (aka Obama) has been friends with people like these?? Yet he is being considered for the presidency?? I really think that someone should take a good look at his background, friends, associates, and see if he would even pass a background check to get security clearance. After all as president he would be privy to some really top secret information.

I just love how liberals and democrats say,
" the mind is like a parachute, works best when opened." yet they refuse to open thier own minds; they refuse to listen to opposing arguments. Their way is the only way. I feel that they should take their own advice.

Pearls before swine. It really is true.

Tedda, here is something else for you to think about......
Here is a list of web sites all US voters should be required to read, and understand, before being allowed to vote.

TAXES

Proposed changes in taxes after the 2008 General election:

CAPITAL GAINS TAX

MCCAIN
0% on home sales up to $500,000 per home (couples). McCain does not propose any change in existing home sales income tax.

OBAMA
28% on profit from ALL home sales

How does this affect you? If you sell your home and make a profit, you will pay 28% of your gain on taxes. If you are heading toward retirement and would like to down-size your home or move into a retirement community, 28% of the money you make from your home will go to taxes. This proposal will adversely affect the elderly who are counting on the income from their homes as part of their retirement income.

DIVIDEND TAX

MCCAIN 15% (no change)

OBAMA 39.6%

How will this affect you? If you have any money invested in stock market, IRA, mutual funds, college funds, life insurance, retirement accounts, or anything that pays or reinvests dividends, you will now be paying nearly 40% of the money earned on taxes if Obama becomes president. The experts predict that 'Higher tax rates on dividends and capital gains would crash the stock market, yet do absolutely nothing to cut the deficit.'

INCOME TAX

MCCAIN (no changes)

Single making 30K - tax $4,500
Single making 50K - tax $12,500
Single making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 60K- tax $9,000
Married making 75K - tax $18,750
Married making 125K - tax $31,250

OBAMA (reversion to pre-Bush tax cuts)

Single making 30K - tax $8,400
Single making 50K - tax $14,000
Single making 75K - tax $23,250
Married making 60K - tax $16,800
Married making 75K - tax $21,000
Married making 125K - tax $38,750

Under Obama, your taxes could almost double!

INHERITANCE TAX

MCCAIN 0% (No change, Bush repealed this tax)

OBAMA Restore the inheritance tax

Many families have lost businesses, farms, ranches, and homes that have been in their families for generations because they could not afford the inheritance tax. Those willing their assets to loved ones will only lose them to these taxes.

NEW TAXES PROPOSED BY OBAMA

New government taxes proposed on homes that are more than 2400 square feet.

New gasoline taxes (as if gas weren't high enough already)

New taxes on natural resources consumption (heating gas, water, electricity)

New taxes on retirement accounts, and last but not least....

New taxes to pay for socialized medicine so we can receive the same level of medical care as other third-world countries!!!

You can verify a lot of the above at the following web sites:

Walter -

All good and true info, but I'm afraid it is too late. There are too many ignorant voters in this country that do not care about facts. They are only interested in catch phrases and not the facts behind them. They are too lazy to do the research to find out how their decisions will affect themselves, their children, and the country, and they will ignore anything they do find that they do not want to hear. There, unfortunately, too many of them to overcome this time, and once we go over this cliff, we will never have the ability to come back. Too much damage will be done.

It's been a good ride but "change" is coming all right. It is a shame that it is the minority that really understand what that "change" really means.

Kilroy, I know that, I just refuse to quit until it really is over. It is NOT the 4th of Nov. not yet.
I REFUSE to let this great Country go that way without a fight. I am a Patriot, and I refuse to give up and follow the Democratic lead, Wave the WHITE FLAG, and surrender; before it really is over. I'm stubborn, if I get the bit between my teeth I'll run with it.
As for lazy, ignorant people; well isnt that how clinton got elected?? He didnt do much for this country, unless you happen to be a minority, or a third world country, or a terrorist. All of the surpluses that we "had" in the clinton years, anybody have ANY PROOF, not some news report. All of those surpluses were on paper only. Who audits the president?? Does ANY ONE????

I refuse to quit, and let this country go quietly into the still darkness.

Rocco,

What's a tow turd?

It doesn't make much sense arguing whether Obama's policies are right, just, or beneficial with those who believe they will benefit most from those policies. There is an inherent conflict of interest. Why would I not vote for policies that would give me free cash, free healthcare, and at the same time provide punishment financially for those whom I feel have obtained their wealth and income through spurious behavior and by exploiting the "working man"?

It doesn't matter whether these policies are right or if they will even work. It's that I might get something for nothing at the expense of those I revile. Even if I don't benefit, I get to stick it to "the man".

This is ignorance at it's best.
"I want police protection, fire protection, Military, roads repaired, bridges repaired, infrastructure repaired, snow removal, garbage pick up, clean water, clean air, safe schools, smart schools.
I am an American damn it, and I want these things that Federal and State governments supply. I want all the benefits I'm entitled to. However, I don't want to have to pay for it. What's mine is mine. How dare you ask me to sacrifice a little! How dare you ask me to pay my share!. Screw everyone else. It's all about me and what I can get, regardless of others! I don't want to pay taxes, but I want all the benefits.
I'm not speaking of the "lower class". I'm speaking of the "republican rank and file"
Hurray for me and "F" you.
I have yet to hear Mccains plan to pay for his Government. Oh yeah, redistribute the wealth by taking more of MY money and giving more tax breaks to the wealthy.
Reagan and his "trickle down" economics has finally come full term. IT DOESN'T WORK!!
Open your damn eyes people. Socialism? We have it thanks to the Republicans. When you take $700,000,0000,0000 of tax payers money and bail out the wealthy, boy if that ain't socialism!
Mccain taxes your health care as income? $5000 tax credit? Does the bonehead realise it averages about $15,000 a year for insurance for a Family? What a deal!
Instead of "my company can make that for you", it's now "do you want that biggie sized?"
Please don't hand me the line of shit about over taxing businesses and that's why they go overseas. The go there to take advantage of what boils down to slave labor. No SS, no unemployment, no workers comp, NOTHING to protect or treat workers fair. Now they're seeing the results. A failing economy.
Instead of workers from other countries competing with American workers, we have to compete with their less than a dollar an hour pay. Maybe you want to work for chump change, but my time, education and skills are worth more than that.
Taxes. A necessary evil in a Democratic Society.
Time to grow up and take responsibility. This goes out to the people that believe society owes them and those who think they're above it. Time for people that have gotten tax BREAKS over the last 8 years to start paying their share. The middle class has been. We pay by loosing jobs, make less and pay to bailout millionaires. That's our sacrifice. Time to put up or shut up.
With that, in a few days America will speak.
I can only hope they vote for a better America. Cause right now, it's headed right to the shiter. Only one candidate can get us there. And it isn't the one that has had 8 years to distance himself from Bush, but has decided in the last month that it's a good idea. Nice try old man, but I know what side your on. Good try though.

Careful, your class envy is showing.

You do realize the top 5% pay 70% of all taxes and the bottom 35% pay NONE, right?

Higher corporate taxes will GUARANTEE jobs go overseas. Add the ability for unions to strong arm "no" votes into "yes" votes by removing the ability to vote anonymously, and get ready for 10%+ unemployment.

Too bad everyone is too dazzled by the free goodie grab to think through the cause and effect of the tax policy Obama offers.

Rocketsprink- That rant was a good read

Ft bstrd- How will higher corp. taxes guarantee that jobs go overseas? If a corp. is taxed on the amount of money that they make, sending jobs overseas will not cause them to make less money. It might actually cost them more in taxes, since they would be paying less in wages.
