Okay, so I finally ordered some LED turn signal/running lights for my bike. Literally 15 minutes later I find out that rear-facing amber running lights are illegal in my state. When I tried to cancel the order, they'd already shipped (Maxspeed Motorsports out of Canada is frikkin' FAST!). So, rather than trying to return them to Canada, I'm going to try some spray tint on the clear lenses.

Anyone here have any recommendations on red spray tint? I don't have the slightest clue where to start, or what's good/bad.

Thanks!

there are various airbrush paints that may do the trick. some local paint shops will make you a small rattle can of paint with your color choice. you may consider ordering a colored lense. my .02.

Someone tried to give me a sales pitch for transparent paint once . . . but I could see right through it.

Go to Autozone and pick up a can of MetalCast red(DuPont). About 5-6 bucks a can. A very light coat to start with, then work from there. Should do the trick.

If you have a local hobby shop, Testors (and I'm sure others, as well) makes a variety of colored "tints", and they're designed for plastic models. Good stuff.

Have you thought about finding someone who wants the same signals you have for their bike, having them order a full set of 4 reds, and you just swap a pair with them? Post a link to the lights you bought, I'm sure someone here on badweb would go for that if they're considering new lights...
