I went to Vegas on Friday night and stayed until Saturday night for the auction. I wanted to post up a few pics. First I have to apologize. I had to park behind the Excalibur and walk to Mandalay Bay. I know it isn't too far but by the time I realized I left the camera in the truck I didn't want to go back and get it. So these came from my phone.

Obviously there was a number of amazing automobiles. I must rant for a second though. Why do people think Mustangs are so great? I don't think I would be far off in saying that 3 out of 5 cars was some sort of Mustang. GT500s were everywhere, the Boss 302 might as well have been used to shuttle rich bidders around. GT350s, and run of the mill Mustangs were a dime a dozen. The abomination Ford currently sells only adds to the stupidity. Thankfully the Mustang drift cars sounded amazing and were pretty fun to watch. They saved me from totally swearing off the mustang brand.

Not enough motorcycles. I saw maybe 10-15 choppers and the desmo which was the highlight of the weekend for me.

Resto-mods, why? I don't mind them but if you are trying to build a car to sell fro a high price don't mess with it. Only one person likes everything about every single modification to a car and that is the current owner. Drives me nuts to hear the auctioneer hear that it took a quarter of a million to build and it is currently at $70,000. Who cares! It looks stupid, the builder had terrible taste. Man there are some dumb people out there.

And finally I wasn't too pleased to pay $30 to get in. Barrett Jackson gets 10% of the sale price from the seller and 10% of the sale price from the buyer. Plus every bidder pays a $500.

That one was a display along with the Aston at the Bridgestone tent. I'm pretty sure neither vehicle went up on the auction block.

Sure is an amazing bike. Simply stunning.

I'm not a huge car junky, but for some reason, people spending 4 million on a truck/bus thing really keeps me glued to the BJ Auction.

Its great entertainment. Thanks for the pics

I love cars. If it has wheels and an engine and preferably no Toyota badge I usually love it.
