Johnny - sharp cheddar can definitely make a sandwich. Cabot has an "Old School" (or at least, they used to). Aged 5 years, very firm (borderline crumbly, had to slice very carefully).

It was $36 for a two pound brick. Some of the best cheese I've ever had.

Cruisin - a 5 year cheddar sounds phenomenal. I will look for it.

I'm just a country boy. I'll take a good old BLT with tomatoes picked fresh from the garden. Some nice and crispy bacon from a hog we slaughtered. Some crisp lettuce for texture and a bit of volume. Sprinkle on a bit of salt and pepper, not too much. I like it on soft white bread. Oh, and being someone who believes a slice of cheese makes pretty much everything better, I'll take a slice of cheddar thank you.

I also like a nice thick home grilled hamburger, with fresh tomatoes and cheese of course. Along with mustard and ketchup and pickles and lettuce.

Johnny - http://www.shopcabot.com - under waxed cheddar. Price has gone up, it's $39.50 for a 2lb block.

I think it's worth it, if you don't mind spending the money...

Jersey Mike's is a sub shop chain that just opened a store near my house. They blow away Subway, Quizno's, etc. and are reasonably priced.
