It's known amongst my friends and colleagues that I already have a serious case of Buell fever - my desk at work is covered in Buell pictures as well as the walls at home, I'm frequently heard to be explaining the benefits of low unsprung weight and centralised mass, I can sometimes be found blankly staring at pictures of the 112CR, or found wondering the corridors jabbering about S1's and RR1200's and XB12SS's...

And now it seems the disease is spreading through the household : D. Vampress' Zephyr 550 decided to lunch 2nd gear last weekend so while I was trying to get that sorted I encouraged her to take the X1 for a ride, just so she'd have an alternate way to get to work if the Zephyr wasn't fixed. (We have four registered vehicles in this house and the Buell is by far the most reliable!)

So yesterday morning she took it for a spin. She was incredibly nervous about it - despite the fact she's been on the back of it so much the limited steering lock, the width of the tank, and just the idea of riding a 1200cc bike worried her. But I'm very proud of her, she got on and took it for a little 20 minute ride : D. When she came back she said "I hate it... With a passion... Evil beast...", but she couldn't hide that grin, the first sign of the disease : D.

So I have a feeling there maybe another Buell, or two, in the household sometime in the next few years : ) It's a contagious disease, but I'm not going to do anything to stop it spreading...
cheers,
chili

It came from Kenosha, it'll stay in SE Wisconsin. It will stay an R, but may look a tad different than Roc's race bike. If Henry Duga can help me out with and XBRR fairing, I'd be golden.

Not sure if there's any cure... I'll have to monitor Vampress closely, see if it gets any worse... : D

My S.O. has dubbed my Firebolt as the "Other Woman." Luckily, she's not the jealous type. She even likes to explain the Buell philosophy to the unenlightened. Hopefully I can get her to stop scaring Erik with her demands for a Uly short enough for her five-foot-nothin' self.

I can't get my girl to drive my bike at all. I live in a perfect spot with no traffic and plenty of room for her to ride. She wants a Sporty...I'm trying to convince her to let me build her a Buell. She's not having it.
