You need to talk to RT and get his .410 snake charmer with the cute paint job. I predict a squirrel massacre!

We recently adopted a puppy. He's part black and part white. We call him "Darrell".

We have an alternate solution. He's maybe three and a half months old but he's bagged one squirrel already, a hunting machine for sure. Looks like maybe a Pointer. Michele picked him off the street a couple months ago after nearly running him over.

I'm still sad and missing Roger, my Border Collie, but it's time for another best buddie. He's a real character and one tough dog.

Great looking dog and he's seemingly found his niche in short order at Casa Blake ; )

My big dog can't catch them and the smallest one is apathetic about all things with the exception of Beggin Strips, the wife's min-pin is a squirrel terror machine! She's too quick for them and lays in wait for the ambush attacks and normally bags 2 per week as they're eating out of my bird feeders. Earning her keep ; ) The downside is she like to chase my chickens around which causes issues with the egg supply chain from the hen house to my kitchen.

Pinky is on the UN's official list of weapons of mass execution. It has been said that when birds see that pink harbinger of death they simply fall from the sky overcome with an overwhelming sense of inescapable doom.

THose dead carcasses now get tossed in the trash? Did their death serve any purpose other than "just because i can"?

Yes. It's called "You birds are now my dinner because I'm at the top of the food chain".

Well i'd have no problem(not that anyone cared) with hunting to eat.

As a teen i hunted/shot birds and wildlife for no other reason than i could.Seems repulsive now, what i did

You don't have to eat steak, either. But you do because you can.

Quail never go to waste at my house. They get eaten. Besides, by the time you divide all those birds among the dozen or so guys on the hunt (not all of whom are experienced shooters) it works out to a couple of nice fried quail dinners per man.

"Because I can" is a poor reason to hunt, in my opinion. I don't hunt squirrels, ducks, geese or deer because either (a) I don't like to eat them or (b) I don't care for the manner in which they're taken down here in my part of the world.

Thank you for questioning my hunting ethics.

THE SHOW MUST GO ON -- "Don't let calamity interrupt the proceedings; we mustn't stop what we are doing, even if something unfortunate has happened; it would make us look bad or worry the spectators. The saying and principle are traditional in the theater, but apparently they both originated in the 19th century with circuses. If an animal got loose or a performer was injured, the ringmaster and the band tried to keep things going so that the crowd would not panic." From "The Dictionary of Cliches" by James Rogers (Ballantine Books, New York, 1985).

I hope the debates go on on Friday, but I'd rather see BOTH SENATORS tending to the business to which they were elected.

The debate could be rescheduled.

This has the potential to be the largest single economic decision made since 1929.

Send the two candidates back to Washington, and let the Veep's in waiting have at it on Friday...(that's what they're supposed to do when there is a crisis...)

Good to see you posting Thang -- hope all's well with you and yours. Sorry 'bout dragging you in here. My bad. On another note please get them fellows back to work ASAP. When the prices here spiked @$5.00 I could no longer resist the new Denali, heck, they were nearly giving them away.

Blake,

I got a nice little .410 I'll send your way to kill them pesky critters. If you're not interested in mine then I need to get RT to do me a custom paint job on it ; ) If the gun doesn't work how about the Mrs. Bigdaddy's mini-pinscher? She's a squirrel killing machine : )

McCain is the lesser of two evils IMO.

Technically Obama really can't play the race card, anyway. He's mixed.

Republicans had a chance to select a good person but instead picked McCain. Watch the short video and see how McCain has handled the economy.

You'd think that if you were paid $160,000 per year to represent the residents of your state you would show up for the development of and vote for a financial bill of this magnitude.

But then again, he'll probably vote "present" anyway.

The problem is that there are really very few "facts" available. Most people are simply researching aggregations of opinions of others.

Few are actually digesting raw information for themselves.
