PORTLAND, Ore. -- Friends and co-workers of a construction worker who was seriously injured in a hit-and-run involving a motorcycle announced Wednesday a $2,000 reward for the driver's capture.

Several other flaggers have come together calling for the public's help finding the driver who injured their co-worker and friend.

Co-workers said the motorcyclist ignored their warnings to slow down before he sped through the construction zone hitting Teri Gunther, throwing her about 15 feet.

Gunther has already undergone surgery on her two broken legs and is scheduled to undergo another surgery on her broken wrist and arm, according to a release from Gunther's company Flag'ng Inc.

She also suffered several broken ribs and had to have a tube inserted in her chest to release air from the trauma, according to the release.

An account has been created at US Bank to accept donations for Gunther's family to help offset medical costs.

One of the flaggers who witnessed the hit-and-run said that the man driving said he didn't have to listen to workers because he was "richer" than they are right before hitting Gunther with his motorcycle and driving away.

Steering into people is more than a little stupid, and it's a total dick move too. Normally I'd say there's more than one side to any story and we should wait to hear his, but since he rode off after obviously hitting someone I'm guessing he knows he's at fault. Hope he gets caught.
