I call one of my dogs "Groucho" because of the cigar visual when I caught her eating the other ones crap...

How did we get on the subject of dogs eating crap?

"...it was just one little bite..."

Our dogs enjoy the occasional kitty rocha, but then they're also fond of just eating cats straight up. Needless to say, we are not a cat household.

Cats are tangible evidence of evil. Oh, and they also eat circadas, an example of which can be seen in the photo at the top of this post. (Just trying to bring the thread back around.)

Where can I get that cake? Hahahaha

A former co-worker made me a chocolate cake with a big plastic dog pile on top, I still have it in a drawer, the pile that is. Just waiting for the right time to bring it back out.

Barker, that's an ichineumon (sp?) wasp. That's not a stinger. It's an ovipositor. Lot's of 'em around here. It drills the ovipositor into wood, where it lays an egg. I think the larva eats the wood as it grows. Not sure though.

Those things used to freak the crap out of me when I was a kid. Truly an alien looking insect.

Enter closet geekery...
Cicadas actually live underground for nearly 20yrs (13-17 yrs) before becoming the flyers we see making noise. In N America there are something like 5 different 'families', sort of like crime families, spread out across the land. Each matures in different cycles so one region of the land will experience the noise and dirty windshield during separate years from others. Within the families they have year broods sort of like human generations that hatch every few years. The long lifespan is designed to beat predators that live far shorter lives.

The eat root juice, which I am sure has a good bit of poo in it.

Now, where are the hot chicks?
