Get her off the oxycontin as quickly as possible. For short term pain relief it works well, but that stuff is highly addictive, and will take over your life.

Also, make sure she doesn't try to do too much because the pain killers have made her feel so much better.

Good luck.

Thanks guys, AGAIN, for all the prayers and well wishes.
My problem is I am not sure what that are considering, "too, much". Goodness know if you saw how dirty my place is you would be afraid to sleep here. It's making me crazy but could be a lot worse!

Get some rest Dan, you deserve it. YES, YES, HE DOES
After all this is over, you get to hold this over her head, and make her wait on you hand and foot. HEY MAN! I THOUGHT WE WUZ BUDS BEING GEMINI AND ALL

ONE LAST THOUGHT WEAR YOU'RE GEAR! The tumble I took was violent enough to screw with my insides BUT, no broken bones, no road rash and if you saw my helmet, well my nose is even is even in the same place rather 2"more to the left.

Hey Connie!!

Haven't been on the board in a while. Heard about your tumble.

Recovery's a beast, but hey...yer tough enough to keep Dan in line. You can handle this one.

Much Love,

Bullet

Bambi,

From an ex-racer with a stupid number of injuries, take my advice. REST UNTIL YOU HEAL. You can really re-injure yourself, since you're obviously type A+ in attitude and you'll be on pain meds. You won't believe how much faster you heal if you literally do damn near nothing for a couple of weeks. I've tried both ways, and I guarantee this is much better. Get well!!

I concur. The pain from re-injury is much worse than the pain from the original injury.
Lay on the couch, and watch the Real Estate Channel. Or count the little holes in the acoustical ceiling tiles. (When I was healing with my crushed ankle, I counted over 54,000 of the little perforations one day) Or figure out new ways to unscrew the Inscrutable. But keep a very low profile. You'll heal faster and more completely if you do.

I am not sure what that are considering, "too, much".

ANYTHING is too much.

my last get-off, about five years ago, put me on my back for three months. it took AN HOUR just to go take a leak, and make it back to the couch. when the Doc found out, he said an hour was too much time on my feet, and i spent the remainder of the three months pissing into a coffee can.

point is...you can OVER-do it in a heartbeat, but until the Doc sez otherwise, you can't UNDER-do it.

go easy. it may drive you nuts now, but you will be back up and running sooner rather than later.

I'm really sorry to hear you had to go back in. It's so hard to see your life altered like that.

The Oxy made me very grumpy after a couple of weeks. It feels great for a few days, but that's about it.

I stayed on Percocet for a month or so, then got off as quick as I could.

My accident changed my life and slowed me down in general. Less life risking activities. I ride and snowboard just as much, just slower.

I hope you can get back to daily life soon.

We are not going to be responsible for any Badweb "habits". If she has any meds left after all of this, I am going to take it upon myself to dispose of them in a rational and mature manner. Besides, they're worth good money!

We need bike parts.

What kind of parts do you need? Badwebbers have been known to pitch in and help out distressed Buellers. If you put a list up, I bet there are people who have extra parts laying around that they would contribute to help get Connie's bike back up.

Crusty, Bambi rides an SV650, I think it's one of the older tube framed ones.
From what I understand the bikes not too bad off.

I bet she'd heal quicker if there was an XB waiting for her!
Just kidding; but with her attitude, she belongs on a Buell!

No kidding! A Blast was in the past, but it was too slow.
Now if someone has a set of stock bars from a lightning...They'll match up to the SV nicely. I'll give $20.

Thanks everyone for the positive thoughts! I feel better and better each day and I believe it is because of all the positive energy, prayers and well wishes you guys keep sending my way.

I still hate it that I screwed up the ride for Ratman and the rest of the 3% that day and that I did it before Buell-toberfest but hey, everything happens for a reason!

Guess I'll be sitting on the porch in a rocking chair working or taking in the view. It'll still be fun hanging with you guys.

Hey ya Xbullet aka Pinball (lol) Where ya been? You guys coming up next weekend? How is your mending coming?
