Working at home today . . . in the basement . . . hear wife scream "someone's trying to break in" . . . Attack Jack barking. . in run up and see the guy walking down the street. . . . call 911 . . leap in the truck . . see him in the neighbors garage and by the time I turn there are 4 Crown Vics, discharging 8 Officers with handguns drawn. The guy and I visited briefly as he was being cuffed. Cops know him, he's a "career criminal" and they're charing him with Criminal Trespass. Very, very poor neighborhood for breaking in . . . |

Glad no one got hurt. I'm sure your neighbors are thankful for your 911 call that had the police there so quickly. |

So does Dave have to give back the copies he stole from your basement or did he stash them before the cops got to him? |

Why not att Burg on your place and Burg on the neighbor as well as crim tresspass? Sure it's a career when they dont charge him with all they can and he keeps getting out. |

Can you imagine some crack-head wandering down the streets with 67,000 Buell photos, 9 cases of memorabilia, 250 t-shirts, 22 years of service and parts manuals, a bicycle and tons of tossed in the trash parts labeled "test only" . . . . they'd charge him with insanity! By the way . . . Mr. Gess is coming here for a couple days I'm wandering if we should have a "Buell Basement Open House". We could invite the neighborhood burglars! |

I never understood how they had photos of criminals (ie they had them in custody) and now they are looking for them again. Especially the way they paint some of these career criminals. I would think that the Gulags in Russia are empty, maybe we could contract them out... Yet another reason I will never be in office, I believe punishment never includes a gym, cable tv, a library, a work release program or congical visits. |

"By the way . . . Mr. Gess is coming here for a couple days I'm wandering if we should have a "Buell Basement Open House"." PM me, I'll fly out asap. That would be a worth the price of admission. I can only imagine what your basement looks like. |

>>>I can only imagine what your basement looks like. While not patently inaccurate that may be a misleading line . . . my basement is always in a state of being cleaned up. I've saved the crud but never actually "archived" anything . . . the fun part is every time you open a box it's like Christmas morning . . a case of "old company" stationary here. . . box of business cards there. . . various test rotors and tach kit housings. . .the badges that HD seized and destroyed . . heck last week I found a case of key chains from the 1995 demo rides and a "1,000th Buell Made" t-shirt still in the wrapper. .. yesterday my wife was throwing stuff out and it was 3 WHITE LIGHTNING secret intro shirts from Nashville in 1997. . . place is a frickin' disaster. |

I think "Attack Jack" should get a special meal........ One the major reasons I believe in having a dog around.... |

Glad to see everything turned out okay. I am surprised there aren't fabulous shots of the burglar being cuffed and stuffed. Court, I have room to "archive" everything so if you want me to come get those boxes, just let me know. Anything XXL may have to get unwrapped for visual inspection, but that's no big deal. |

One the major reasons I believe in having a dog around.... agreed. murcielago (my wife's 80-lb lap dog) ran some guy off earlier this summer, and received a 2-lb, barely-broiled sirloin for her efforts. small price to pay for security like that |

Life is just better with a dog in the house. I should know, I have three. No other burglar alarm known to man that will also keep you fee warm at night...lol |

Glad that worked out the way it did. Good you were home at the time. On the dog front, my boxer sounds ferocious, but if anyone came in he'd probably just run up to them to get petted. My collie just sounds annoying. |

My beagle/harrier sounds like she's going to explode and destroy whoever walks in the door. Sometimes I think she just might. She takes her home and her pack (the wife, kids and me) VERY SERIOUSLY. |

I replaced the security dog with two pick-axe handles and a monitored alarm. Not as much fun at Frisbee, but the t***s are smaller. I've got a tattoo just like that flag on the right. |

>>>I've got a tattoo just like that flag on the right. Cool! . . . I got the idea working at the United Nations . . . we display the flags of the countries of all folks who are in the house. This was from a 10 day "Elf Summit" that was certainly one of the most fabulous. Four years ago it was the "Full Court Press" event where there were half a dozen from Wisconsin and we had Ireland, Denmark, The Netherlands, Australia and Italy represented. Funniest story was from the Elf Summit. Concerns over one of the attendees knowing only 3 words of English disappeared as quickly as the wine (Henrik usually provides it unknowingly, via Josh and MbA). In the next 3 weeks . . . we'll be flying the Wisconsin flag for 12 days as a parade of Wisconsites come visit for a variety of reasons. The people I've met through Buell have changed my life.
