I found these old pictures and would like to share with you all. This was my first Buell X1 Millenium #289. I had 3,600 miles on it when I was rear ended. Then 30 days later I bought the X1 Racing Stripe 2000, I couldn't ride it for a while but I sure went into the garage a lot to look at it! The bike took the hit I wound up with bumps scrapes and sprained pelvis.
Poor Buell

I lived through it, The crash anniversery is coming up for me, I'm going to look into the guy who hit me, he was drinking beer when he hit me. And then I'm going to find some more before the crash photos of my first Buell. I'm riding my forth Buell now and on every single one of the bikes I have owned since the crash I watched the 3,600 mile pass on the odometer. I think it will be a habit with every new bike I get. k

So did he get DUI/DWI? Or anything else? He shoulda been thrown into Jessup for that crap! Its one thing to be drunk driving, its another to hit a friggin motorcyclist! Its good and kinda eerie to remember the times you beat death. I stop by the site where I wrecked/flipped my car into the water when I pass it. Still spooks me.

I'm going to look into the guy who hit me

Why? Don't drag yourself backward and down voluntarily.

Count your blessings. Move forward.

That's what I told Eric Buell when I met him the tail piece held, the frame broke in half. I had a Yamaha Seca 2 and just sold a Suzuki Intruder to buy the X1M. Thank God I was on the Buell!

My worst fear is being rear ended when I'm on the bike.

my daughter got rear ended two years ago last month sometime and fortunately she at least had her helmet on. wasn't going far so she nixed the jacket and gloves. now she has the scars to show for not wearing the jacket and gloves. i'm just glad she had the helmet cause she said she saw the pavement face to face.

hopefully that will be your one and only.

No duck tape I did get some parts off of it and they are on my X1 Racing Stripe. I still have that bike, in fact, I rode it to work today, it is so smooth at 80 mph! I had all of my gear on always ride ATGATT, I had bumps ,scrapes, and a sprained pelvis. And then about a year later I was teaching a Rider's Edge class and the boss told me and my assistant to blow the carbon out of the training bikes. So we did and I wound up flipping a Buell Blast front end over hotdogging itMy rider ego was hurt a little on that one! I have moved on with the crash, I've been looking for the crash pics for a long time and finally sat down with all of my 3 1/2 floppys and found them. K
