My girlfriend hasn't yet had the opportunity to try the Vision Tour; the only demo the dealer had at the time was the Vision Street. Still, she was very surprised at how comfortable the saddle was, and how much room she had back there. She wasn't completely happy with the floorboard location, but we didn't have time to fiddle with the adjustment; I'm sure it could be made more better.

The dealer now has a Vision Tour demo and I'd like for her to try that. Then it's just a matter of waiting for Victory to put REAL saddlebags on that thing. Oh, and ABS would be nice, too.

Low speed handling was far superior to my K1200LT (low speed handling has always been pointed out as a weakness in that bike since it was introduced. It was improved in the 2005 model year, but it is still a handful compared to the Honda and the Harley. Thank God I don't ride slow that much). High speed handling was surprisingly good. I didn't manage to touch anything down and there was no head shake that I could determine when hitting bumps leaned over. Wind protection was EXCELLENT and I do like the looooooooong floorboards that allow you to move your legs around. That is important for long trips. Although there are highway bars available, I don't think they'd be required with this bike.

Anyway, that's been my experience with it. YMMV. I'm still not ready to replace my K1200LT though. At 119,000 miles it's still one of the most reliable vehicles I've ever owned and it still runs as well as it did Day 1.

My buddies & I demo'd them last year in Sturgis and each of us commented on how clunky and cheap the transmission felt until it hit 5th gear. I've never seen any magazine article bring up the same point but I can't believe only these three bikes had the glitch.

Otherwise, it was a comfortable cruiser. Nobody's not going to have an opinion on the looks of this bike, though. You either like it or hate. There's no in-between.

Yeah - the gearbox is noisy when changing, but gives a very secure click into place. No issues worth noting here other than that.

And it's not really an issue either I'd mention either - It's about standard for an over 1600cc type gearbox.

Goldwing's is the smoothest in the class so far.

dave i've never riden any of the victory's and i've always been curious how the motor itself runs and how well it gets the power to the ground in comparison to an HD big twin. or even the buell air cooleds for that matter.

Hey Ustorque - Happy to say they run nicely - I'm not comfortable making direct comparisons on pages that H-D dealers are sponsoring.

There's a thread over at ADV. and you know how that place runs on respect? :-)

Weird handlebars hey!

Oh yeah - I was with 2 guys from Victory and as I was bellying along in the long wet grass down an embankment I'm sure they thought I was gonzo.
