Got home about two beers ago from Springfield and the Mile...what a great race, and a great day to see a race. Spent the day w/my 11 year old son and once again I am amazed what a great bunch of racers and fans can be found at a flat track race. If you have yet to witness this type of racing do so. You might never want to see a paved race again. Been going for the last 18 years or so and look forward to Memorial/Labor day like I do xmas! |

Allen, have you ever been to the Peoria TT races? I use to live there and went every year but now since they only race the singles there, I stopped going. I've never made it to Springfield but plan on getting there next year for the twins race. I agree with you on the dirt track racing being more exciting. My days off this week were spent up in Milwaukee for Harley's 105th. |

Peoria TT and Springfield Short track are my favorite races. The Springfield mile is cool but nothing beats the slam bangin of the short track Saturday night. Make it a weekend at Springfield and you won't be disappointed. Here are a few pics of this past weekend and one of my bike at Peoria TT over the jump.
