Hello all,
A friend is looking at an '03 9R. The seller thinks he has a charging problem. I did a quick scroll down thru the electrical section of the KV and saw a few threads on replacing the stator/VR, but no prices were listed.

How much are the parts, labor?

Thanks in advance.

There's a thread in here somewhere about diagnosing charging problems. Big difference in labor between the VR (DIY in five minutes) or the stator (not). I just went through it this morning and was pleased to find out it was my VR - although a bad ground would have been cheaper. The good news is that all three bikes use the same VR, so I cannibalized one while waiting for a new part.

"$80.00 an hour."

Careful with that, one dealer charged me $240 for a TPS reset.

A 5 minute job that took 3 hours.

actually it took them 3 hours to tape my air box-up.

cuz it had "a bunch of holes in it" When I got the bike back it would not start. It could not breath @ all, and the broke my idle adjust cable.

Appleton HD/Buell of clarksville, tn is not worth pissing on.
