Picked these up for $130 at Bloomington Buell, and am now trying to figure out what jacket went with it.

I have no idea, but I do know it's discontinued.

Well, they are made by Vanson..

There's a tag inside that says :
70797B**15

I don't know if that's the part number or what. Anyone have an older accessories catalog that has these in there and could show me a pic of the jacket that went with these?

Did you get a part number on the receipt from the dealer?

Are they leather or nylon? I can't quite tell from the picture...

Chelle,

They are textile pants, nylon. I don't know about a part number...I have to find the receipt.

There's a gray-black Vanson textile jacket with the same color Buell insignia from about 2006. Shenandoah Harley Davidson Buell in Staunton Va has a bunch of them left over from 2006, if they can show it to you.

It's a good jacket with solid armor and lots of vents. They just want close to $400 for it, even at a few years old.

The Vanson Part Number for those pants is XRUP, and it says the matching jacket is XRUJ.
"Vented zippered panel cools you when its hot, and protects you from the cold [when closed]. This garmenet features 2 large Cargo Pockets, the ability to zip to the XRUJ Jacket and CE approved Knee Armor"

Sound like it? If so, that was a REAL good price. Real good.

Sorry, the STYLE is XRUP, the Part Number is BU63.

The STYLE of jacket is XRUJ, and the Part Number is BU61. I found it in the 2007 catalog.

Hey - Cityslicker might have what you're looking for:

We evidently have one in a XXL.

Brin....

I have a pair of those pants. I was wearing them for the 24th Homecoming get off I had on the go cart track. They are very good in that case. Excellent knee pads and no scuff damage. I think I spent about $260 for mine when they were new on the market, I'm glad I did, no bruises, abrasions, or scratches in the coverage area.

They get mighty warm walking around on a 90 degree day. They are excellent in cold weather, the material blocks all of the wind and the pads insulate. You won't feel that heat that many people speak about.

I use them with the Adventure Jacket almost all of the time, but when real cold hits I use my HD textile armored jacket with them.

Well, glad to hear they hold up better then Mark's new at the time Mesh Jacket!
Glad I didn't go down, all I had was a pair of jeans on, right behind you! =)
Chelle,
Thanks!
I see them advertised online for $299. Anyone have them in stock, I want now! Need a Large

We were haulin' pretty good for a while there. Were you close enough to see the wreck as it happened?

By the way the Adventure jacket held up and did its job real well too! It suffered a missing shoulder outer protector and some scuffs through the piping. Me, however, no abrasions, scuffs, raspberries and such. But I did break those ribs though.

I was 5th in line on your guys' ass!!

Front 3 went down, number 4 went straight off into the grass, and I braked through the corner and hopped off the bike ASAP to check on everyone.

Oh yea,

Chelle, is there any way to check other dealers inventories to see if anyone has it in stock at a lower price?

Call Shenandoah and see if they'll cut you some slack. The jackets have been around for awhile. I'd get one, but I keep spending the money on other things, like my daughter's college.

For Harley or Buell parts, I can run an inquiry online, but for non H-D stuff, licensees, and what-not, unfortunately there's no easy way.

I tried googling it for you (actually, that's how I found Cityslicker's thread) but with not much luck.

Could try calling Vanson directly (although I've not had much luck with them) and maybe they have some laying around? Or maybe they'd know who they shipped that number to, and you could start with those dealers.

Just an idea. Don't give up! I'm sure they're out there somewhere!

What size are you, BTW?

I plan on calling them Rainman. I'm sitting in a Public Administration class right now...

I'm using my college money for this. =)

Chelle, I'd need a Large, if it runs standard size.
