Anyone know of any respectable motorcycle rental places near Kentucky? I want to do some touring in the Bluegrass State and perhaps in neighboring states (okay, full disclosure, I want to go tour the Makers Mark distillery in Loretto, KY). I'm thinking I might get something from Eagle Rider in Knoxville. Anyone know anyplace else? I'm into any make of bike.

Any good road recommendations?

When are you coming and how long will you be here? There are several distilleries in the Frankfort/Louisville area that have tours and excellent back roads to ride if you know where they are. HD Lexington rents bikes, no Buells last time I checked and the Honda/Kawa dealer is right next door to them. Might want to try Louisville HD also since they're owned by the same people they probably rent also. That's really the only places that I've heard of for renting bikes. If your around the Lex. area for any length of time come on over and ride with us.

Whoops, Pikeville, not Louisville, is owned by the same people.

Smoky Mountain HD BUELL rents HD's in Maryville Tn. Some great riding around here. They are into Buells to. I don't think they have them in the rental fleet though.

Get here at the right time and you might be able to get a couple of local Uly riders to show you around if you would like.

Neil,
I went down there for lock school for a month in Lexington. The only HD dealer I know of is the one in eastern Ky, Pikesville, I think the town is. Man O' War might have their rental up by now check with them. Both times I went down for school I couldn't get a rental. The dealer far to the east near the mountains was not user friendly. But the roads and scenery are terrific. You have to check out Rabbit Hash old time store right on the river across from Indiana. I went to the Kentucky Buellers Thread and talked to them before I went they have good advise! K
