Did you look in the owner's manual? The VIN is usually broken down there.

Each digit identifies something such as where its made, year, options, etc, etc.

I have access to a computer program that decodes these if your interested. Its primarily for cars and light trucks but it may decode bikes.

I'm just interested in the decode for the XB12R... I can wait, I'm just antsy to have one and looking for "stuff" on XB's.

The bike is stamped with Oct 03 but gives no exact date.
