Same as it ever was. All horsepower, mid controls, shaft drive.... scary straight line performance, nightmarish cornering. had one back in the 80s. swore off shaft drive because of it.

Would have been nicer with some improvements to the shaft drive system. Like BMW or Kawasaki.

Engine looks nice. Same cam drive setup as the 1125.
"Cams are driven by a combined chain and gear system to precisely control valves while keeping cylinder heads remarkably compact for such a large displacement engine."

Would have been a real shocker to Yamaha and the world if the New VRSCF "The Muscle" had actually had some. They could have been head to head on price point, features, power. Well at least closer on power. Maybe the next generation Revolution will wow us someday.

I read that too, but I'm not technical so I never put the two together. +1 on that, they say also that for "Mass Centralization" they placed the 4 gal. fuel tank under the driver seat. Interesting to see the parallels between buell and yamaha.

The gas tank has been under the seat since day 1 on the V-Max in 1984. And a year before that on the 1983 Yamaha Venture Touring bike.

They did not call it "Mass Centralization" in 1983 probably. They had no where else to put it as a V-4 that big needs a mighty bike airbox. Same thing with the 1993 Yamaha GTS-1000 I used to have. The fuel tank was under the seat. So it seemed normal when I bought my Buell XB9S in 2003 and that "tank" was the airbox.

Sowwy for not knowing my vmax history. That is even more interesting that other manufacturers were doing these things that i thought buell was innovating.
