I thought the subject matter we started in the classified area deserved its own topic. Will move some of the stuff over here later on.

But the gist of it is, Is black the perfect color combo for riding apparel? Does color matching your jacket with your bike make you a candidate for "queer eye for the straight guy"? Whats the best place to buy leather jackets, pants, chaps, etc?

Hey...Chap's are cool on a Harley but look way too gay on a Buell. Something about being bent over with your butt hanging out just doesn't cut it.

Then again, I am certainly glad y'all can't see me in my tights from Victoria Secret. Damn, those things are warm and thin too! Never had any long johns that worked that good.

Motorcycle leathers come in one color Black.
To quote Stan Lee
"Nuff Said"

Almost forgot,
Like Nev said the tights work. There descrete, less bulky then long johns and warmer too.

Yeah and most of the high school, college and pro football players. LMAO!!!

Not to mention that is the same stuff the real expensive ski underwear is made out of only at a fraction of the cost.

Like I said in another post, looks like women and Joe Namath aren't so dumb. Figures we would get challenged by someone.

There are two colors for bike gear,

Black and Black,

I don't wear tights (tights are for pansyies) so that must make me a real man.

Sorry Boys come up this way for a while and you too can become one!!!!!hehehehehe-introduce you to some good Newfie Women!!!!-know how to keep ya warm in the winter months so you don't need tights!!!!!

However with all that said I do like wearing my thick thermals (only when it gets cold) that is very similar to ski underwear and helps keep all the gear in place!!!!

That stuff is BLACK too.

Oh well, at least we agree on the proper color. LOL

No kidding, I whined like crazy until I tried them and then compared them to the real expensive ski underwear. Amazing how the manufacturers over charge for a fly and a masculine advertising campaign.

The gal (ex-girl friend from the early 70's) that runs the local Victoria Secret dropped them off at a local restaurant for me. We did it as a joke and if you know me, you will understand the warped sense of humor.

When I went in to pick them up, I opened the bag, held them up and made a minor scene. Had everyone laughing and then little by little the guys were admitting that they wear them for a multitude of outdoor activities. Everything from shoveling snow to riding motorcyles.

In fact, a few were construction workers that swear by them. Plus, the retired players from the Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Milwaukee Braves (note: prior to the move to Atlanta) that go there also wore them during the games?

Folks, I had no idea what I started. I just wanted to mess with a few minds in a sports bar and I usually accomplish that with my Chicago Bears Sweatshirt (this is Packer Country) and the typical teasing. As it turned out, the response was overwhelmingly supportive.

I guess the bottom line is keep an open mind as you never know what "Real Folks" do in their private world. This just happened to be one of those things that it took a joke to get them to open up and tell their story.

Hmmmm...I wonder what other deep dark secrets I can get folks to fess up to this winter. Stay tuned, this could get interesting. LMAO

OK.. Now hold up just a moment here.. I happen to have a bike that is Blue and Black... and Leathers that are Black and Blue..(with some white as well).. You're gonna tell me after all this time that Fieldsheer made some 'wrong' motorcycle clothes when they made that suit? I have to disagree there.. I think anything you wear that serves the function is good. I know people that wear bight yellow's or hunting vests (hunter orange) just to increase visibility. So, while I wear a lot of dark colors when I ride.. Hell, my other bike is Red and black.. (Ok, so I do like black.. but it's not a be all and end all)

Phew.. I guess that's my whole statement on the color thing huh? Sort of.. Damn, I should get back to work..

Later,

Blue & black is fine now what would be wrong is, say you went out & bought red bike..honda Buell whatever...& then felt this overwhelming need to get rid of the blue & black outfit for a red one.

Thats crossing the line over into Ken & Barbies poser world.

Here is where I like to shop for my black motorcycle stuff. I've got nothing against colors or color matching, to each their own. It's just when I started riding motorcycle jackets, pants, chaps, ect. came in any color you wanted as long as you wanted black. So I guess it just stuck with me, or I'm matching my bike, you decide...

Hey folks...Just be glad we don't have to make the fashion and color commitments that the off road riders do.

Talk about Clash...Heck, the majority of them clash with everything natural. Then again, that could be a good thing if you are waiting to be airlifted to a hospital. LOL

Color matching and color coordinating are two different things.

Ever seen an a middle-aged man in just a thong riding a bicycle down Ocean Drive in Miami? I guess it was too hot for his chaps that day.

A lot of the sportbike guys got to be color co-ordinated with their machines.

Personally I don't need to be that close to my bike!!!!!

Black goes with anything.

I bet some people are going to be ordering those colored tires for their bikes next!!!!!!Hang ON - I know where you can get some online neon tubes for the bike too.

EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW

Men In Tights - just something naturally wrong with that-next thing someones gonna post how good panty hose feels - personally I don't want to know how one came to that realization.

Toooo Much Information

OMG...was I ever.

I had a shorty wetsuit I would wear but spmetimes it would get a little tender down below so I figured maybe some padding would work...nope underwear is the wrong way to go. Switched to a pair of lycra bicycle shorts & that was the ticket..no more rubbing & sawing.
