I just found out the Hunter mountain German Alpen Fest is on this weekend. I am already booked for Lake George again I am actually a little upset. I love Lake George but a good German Beer Fest is so hard to pass up. Anyway any you guys and Gals get a chance check it out I doubt you will hate it. just google hunter mountain ski resort NY |

I used to go to that when i was a kid, as a falconer under whom i'd apprenticed used to fly his birds (including a grey gyr) there. After spending too much time at eastern European ski resorts, i'm not so big on Scopcac kraut culture any more. |

derisive western-slavic term for teutonic folk. Sometimes spelled skopcac or skopczac, according to language. |

In my ancestors' language (which I speak), it's scopcac. There's huge enclave of my folks (wends/lusatians)in Texas, i hear tell. |

I always have enjoyed birds of prey but I must confess I do not know much about them. Falconing must be an expierience. We have a place here in NJ called Raptor Trust it is a great place to check out all kinds of birds of prey they help injured birds and such. raptortrust.org if anyones interested |

That's cool! I had a room full of pet owls and sh1t as a kid, usually had a kestrel (Sparrow hawk, here in the states) on hand, sometimes a red-tail or two....actually, i had owls into my 20s, whenever i was static enough. I even had owls overseas. |
