Bring it with you the next time you go to a bike show and two girls are sitting on your ride grabbing each other so we don't have to look at lousy cell-phone pictures.

God.

James, i don't have a tank bag. so it looks like it is backpack bound. most likely it will be in Mark "wolfridgeriders" hard bags on his uly.

Jim, i am not even going to give that a reply.... well i guess i just did....lol

Mark, good point, but you make do with what you have at the time.

John, you bet i am bringing it. this trip is one of the reasons i bought it. now i just have to learn how to use it.
it is supposed to be a good camera for taking action shots. i guess we will see what we get.

Read the manual. Even these non-DSLRs have a lot of neat manual features.

Gary,

For action shots, read up on how to manually set shutter speed only...

And google around to find the technique known as "panning."

Basically, you follow your moving subject in the view finder, and use a slow shutter speed...which produces something like this:

My suggestion is to use about a 1/160sec shutter speed for the effect to start out with, and once you get it down, you can slow it down a tad more, but hand shake comes into play causing the subject to be blurred (not good).

The effect is a blurred background and wheels which, in a picture, produce a desired speed effect...making the object look like it's moving in the picture.

Otherwise, you end up with a subject that is completely frozen in the picture and looks stationary. =)

Oh yea, and Happy Birthday
