Well, after squeezing the Buell in a hole in the garage last night, I decided I would take an early leave today at work. Came home and started cleaning the garage, just so happens to be the hottest day recorded this year. Why today? I should be out riding up in the mountains, instead I am making a cleaner home for the Buell.
There's no real point for this post, just came inside to cool off and decided to rant a little. Thanks for listening if anyone did.

I like cleaning my garage. It's very Zen - that's my alone, outside time. I tell my girlfriend I'm cleaning the garage, take a beer with me, and just kind of putter around in there all day, it's great. ; )

Besides the usual stuff, motorcycles, workbench, etc, my garage has a 'fridge, TV, comfortable chair & a Fisher console (tube) stereo. Maybe not Zen, but quality alone time.

I'm often sent to the garage when my wife has had enough of me fidgeting around the house!

When we bought this place, those were my ideas exactly! But the garage as turned into, "here hunny, put this somewhere, I am out of room.". So now MY garage consist of everything from my workbench to her cook books and everything in between. I have a tv w/PS2 and a sectional sofa in there but you cant get to either.

But the good news...I just got done cleaning. I can now at least park the bike and able to walk completely around it if I need to work on it.

...sounds like my basement, though we're working on that. I swear sometimes I think there isn't a single item down there that's mine...and it's FULL.

I came home from a long weekend out of town to discover my garage flooded (dumb me forgot to turn faucet to garden hose off, hose sprung a leak). Sucks! Good thing I cleaned the garage recently and nothing was laying on the floor (like tools can sometimes be found)....so there, cleaning is GOOD.

I'm trying to find space for another old bike.

It's gonna be tight, but I'll find room.

The real reason I bought the house I own is the huge, business-quality garage. I understand a former owner kept dump trucks in it. I thought it would be just great to be able to work on all my projects. As it stands, it contains 3 collector cars, none of them running, one completely disassembled, and one that doesn't even belong to me. Also 3 motorcycles that do belong to me, a lawn tractor, and believe it or not, an airplane hanging from the ceiling. My every day car sits outside in the weather and the other collector car that I actually drive lives somewhere else. Basically, I have so much cr*p in the garage I have to roll the bikes outside to work on them. And, I don't have time to do anything. Beware of large garages. After summer is over I really have to do something about that.
