lets see, your what, 17, it's summer and how busy can you really be. your sounding like my wife. try and find the time to get back on the bike and enjoy it before it starts snowing again up there. the wife did take the intermediate course and it help out considerably on her confidence. just something to think about.

I dunno Neil, Colin has been so busy lately, Ann and I have only seen him three times in the past month or so. Much busier than I.

With regards to your ticket last year, here in GA usually a one vehicle accident results in a "Failure to maintain control"...not that I would know... ; )

Sheesh, no not at all.
He's leadership in Marching Band this year, and Drum and Bugle Corp, chores (of course).
Last month he was in SC doing the Marching Band thing, teaching. This month is the ending of Drum and Bugle, with the competitions starting next weekend, then school starts back up the following weekend.

That would have been me when I was his age.

Everybody drops their bike at some point. I told my son that when he was bike shopping for his first bike recently. I encouraged him to buy used and buy cheap for just that reason.

But, motorcycles for most people, including myself, are not about doing what is smart all the time. It is about what moves you. And what moved my son was a brand new Ducati Monster 696. So that is what he bought. He is now waiting on a new clutch lever to make it here from Italy. (It is a nice bike though.)

Glitch, what do they say about retiring today? You need 40-60% of your preferable income to retire? You must have dropped your bikes hundreds of thousands of times!

Well, I have been riding for almost 40 years now, and even raced dirt in much younger days.
Street bikes? Maybe not as much, and have no intention of trying to catch up. But yeah, like everyone else I've had my share of spills. There are days though where I feel I've had more than my share!

glitch, the wife just informed me that it was a failure to maintain lane. and that comment was me growing up.

good to see he's doing something that i'm guessing he enjoys. my mother helped run a drum corps back when i was in middle school and of course me, one brother and two sisters were volunteered for it. but it was fun for the most part.

Heh... Neil's Gap.

Not on any map, but now in the North Georgia Bueller's lexicon, joining places like Gixxer Corner and Saintly's Landing, where tales of daring and woe continue to be told.

Colin just told me (he's home for now) they are first in points in the state!
