Joe,
Tried to call your cell and your number was switched off.

Kim, if there's anything you need, give me a call. And let me know when he can have visitors too. I'll stop by in person.

Get better faster.

Just read this thread and wanted to add my sincere hopes for a full recovery to you Joe and strength to his family. Events like this can be frightening and test a person's faith. They also can help you see what is really important in life and what isn't. I hope you come through this stronger and better.

UPDATE

I can't say enough thanks for the continued well wishes, I share the new posts with Joe daily. The support Joe and I feel from all of you is tremendous, I really can't thank you all enough!

The newest news is that Joe has a projected release date from rehab of August 12th. I am so excited that he will be home in two weeks!

We will still have months of in-home and outpatient rebab/PT to endure. It will be tough, but we are both prepared (atleast right now we are telling ourselves that we are). The road will be long, but we will get to the end together.

Hopefully the next post under this ID will actually be Joe ; )

Kim,

Thanks for the update.

Once Joe is home, be sure to take care of yourself as well. Accept help as it is offered to you and Joe. Don't try and take all this on by yourself.

That's good to hear Kim. We'll continue to keep both you & Joe in our prayers.

Tell him he needs to get better because he still owes me a picture of Harpers Ferry when the leaves are turning.

Joe,

I just heard the news from Cindy. I'm sending all my prayers, positive thoughts and best wishes to you and Kim for a speedy and complete recovery. If you need anything, and that includes taming that piece of land you'll one day call home, you just let me know.

Still got you guys on the list. But now that things sound so encouraging I'm getting anxious to hear the tale.
You know, from someone who was first on the scene.

Hurry back Joe, you got some 'splainin' to do!!
The road will be long, but we will get to the end together.
Makes these rough roads so much smoother.

Kim and Joe:

We met at Home Coming and talked extensively. We hate to hear anyone get injured, especially one of our own.

Our prayers and best wishes have been with both of you. It will be a long road but at least there is a road to travel.

Joe and Kim

He told me last night that he's tired of sitting around doing nothing!

This is a VERY GOOD sign. I have had that exact sentiment during my 39 day stay at New Hanover Memorial Hospital In Wilmington, N.C. back in 1987 from a motorcycle accident. It shows strength, determination and recovery! You will prevail over this.

Getting hurt was the easy part, there's lots of hard work ahead.

The human body is an amazing thing, it works hard even when you can't. You'll see.
