They're not radically different.A high up Buell guy stated what i already believed the other day.

It was basically a vendor issue who supplied defective product to BMC.I do not know for certain if that's the case. It's what i believe tho

I'll be watching the Damnut for status of those assemblies.

Actually.....i'm going to go get my set and find out ALONG with Damnut.

Will they hand them to you, to install yourself?...............or do you "have to" bring the bike in?

Nope you have to "bring it in" and they mess everything up!
They make a clean bike dirty, a tight front end loose, and a good bike... like like a dealer touched it!
I HATE PEOPLE TOUCHING MY BIKE, ESPECIALLY THE DEALER!

Find a dealer that will let you sign a waiver stating that if you get hurt in their shop, you will not hold them responsible so you can watch them and catch them screwing something up. Is there such a dealer? Silly me. What was I thinking!

Eagle Harley in Lafayette Indiana will let you go wherever you want in their shop. No waiver.

HAve not pulled my lights apart but am assuming that the metal/plastic bars? that go across the light are to stop the light from going too high in the air Low/High beam?

Any success in modifying/removing these to get the light further down the road on high beam?

I pulled the "spoon" light deflector out of my low beam. The lenses inverts the image/ light so the spoon is in the lower part of the lamp but actually blocks the light from the top of the projected beam. My guess that's a darn DOT requirement for the low beam light.

The high beam is doing just the opposite with the light deflecting bar across the top of the lamp. It's taking light out of the lower part of the projected beam. I have no idea why they would want to do that??? I removed it also.

I don't even have a low beam anymore. I think the "spoon" was pretty dumb. I pulled to low beam housing and switched it with another high beam. If you look at them side by side, the low beam is shaped more like an oval. The high beam is a perfect circle.

Is there such a dealer?
Brandon...They have my bike now because of a head light problem. They brought me back and asked me how I'd like the work done and wires ran. They are really good guys there!

So.. the spoon not being shiny would also affect the light output along with the reflectors.

Are they metal?

I once had a defective water expansion tank on my Ducati.I brought the TANK in and demanded a warranteed one.

Imagine....they had the ball$$ to ask me to drive an hour home and reinstall it into the bike and bring back the BIKE so they could perform the labor.

They gave me the tank. And then kicked me out of their dealership/w expletives
We've since made amends.

I'm sure us qualified individuals can persuade our favourite dealer to hand us the jewels

I was furious service manager said it was normal.
You mean it's not normal for the customer to be furious about having a headlamp fixed and the blinkers stop working?
