Not yet. At least the tech I worked with last night was local and seemed to care. When I mentioned the 68 Comcast user that were having the same problem he was impressed. WHen I sent him all your info he was VERY impressed.

He could ID the issue but could not find a solution. He was at level 1.5 (many jokes about that) and he was elevating this case to Level 2.

The trouble ticket number is CR133223974. It might be helpful if the other Comcast subscribers would call in or e-mail Comcast with reference to this number. I have been calling in to 800-COMCAST. When I get a CSR I give them the trouble ticket number and they then transfer me over to the Help Desk.

Their last resort is to blow away my existing account and start over. Anything in my e-mails and address book has been backed up and can be recovered. If they need to do that I gave them permission. Sometimes even the Techs cannot see everything and this is their only recourse.

That's my story.........

This just read: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080801/ap_on_hi_te/in ternet_regulation

Is this just the tip of the iceberg? Are we just some of the unlucky that covered by this huge umbrella??

Me thinks there is bigger trouble in "River City".

There is a solution. Gmail. It's very adept at catching spam, but friendly to BadWeB email.

One thing that is very unfortunate is that whenever anyone inquires about having their valid email blocked, comcast includes the following assertion in their official response:

Please note that Comcast is not blocking individual senders, but only mail servers that have sent high volumes of spam to the Comcast.net domain."

; [ That is a damn lie. If this doesn't get cleared up within another week, we may need to talk to an attorney. It's darn unfortunate that a large concern like comcast sees fit to characterize every blocked email issue as being a result of nefarious behavior on the part of the affected domain.

I sure as heck won't ever recommend comcast to anyone.

"He could ID the issue, but could not find a solution."

There may be hope. Thanks for the update Neil. Is it just me? How tough can the solution be? Just allow the email to go through and remove whatever impediment is preventing it from doing so.

This guy was at level 1.5. Maybe you have to be level 2 or 10 to be "in the know". It's maybe that old "plausable denilability" thing.

Who knows, we will just have to wait and see. For now my Yahoo account is getting all my mail just fine.

Blake:

I don't want to get too excited but........ this message got through to my Comcast account? Could be just a slip or, could be something has changed. I'll bet you a cold adult beverage or two that Comacst will keep saying that nothing was wrong or they didn't change anything on their side of the equation.

I wonder if this one will get through too?

Neil

About a year ago I had ordered this one to try it out, was on back
order (crutchfield) and I ended up canceling it. Made for bikes.

http://www.radarbusters.com/radar-detectors/whistl
er-radar-detectors/whistlerfuzionradarlaserdetecto r.cfm

Either way it is a good site with reviews from a retired cop. I have
ordered tech mounts from him twice with no problem.

http://www.radarbusters.com/

I rigged my passport with an led light, used it once and decided not
to bother.

I have collected enough tickets in my youth to have the built in
"radar detector feel."

They can be useful but as said, you still have to think.

If they "instant on" a car ahead of you, ya better be paying
attention, if you are the loan target blasting over a hill into a
small town.... well.

Then there is having the detector if you do get pulled over and how
the officer feels about that regardless of legality.

Well, so far today i have been getting e-mail notifications and PM's. Seems like mine is back to normal.

Is anyone else still having this problem? Have the other Comcast subscribers had their issues resolved?

I'm not calling it cured until it continues for a day or two.

PM's and notifications are now working for me again also. I'm not on Comcast, Verizon DSL here... but just like many others, it wasn't working for the last week or so.

The following is the last report from Comcast. Even though they swore they were not blocking BWB, in reality they were. I can't tell if they didn't understand their own system or if they were not quite telling the whole truth and nothing but the.....

Bottom line is my e-mail notifications and PM's are working. "Big Brother" still has the ultimate control, even if "they" don't realize it.

Messages used to get put in Screened Mail. Now doesn't get them at all. Turned off spam filters. Still doesn't get the emails. Domain Admin at badweatherbikers.com reports this is happening to all his subscribers who registered with Comcast email addresses. Domain Admin is not reporting any bounceback messages. Domain Admin also reports this happens with other ISP's as well. Not just Comcast.

Got a call (voicemail) today from Rob at the Comcast security center. He confirmed that since July 29th they had been blocking email due to (according to him) excessive amounts of spam. But for some reason they've now seen their way to removing the impediment against our email. :/ I could almost hear their attorney in the background whispering admonitions to avoid any hint of culpability on their part.

I'll be receiving some examples of just what they are calling spam. Of course it will just be examples of our epost emailings and PM's.

He said that some folks might still find the BadWeB email ending up in their spam folder and if so that I should call back so they can further tweak their settings.

He also suggested I sign up for the comcast feedback loop, so that I will be notified and receive a copy anytime they tag any email of ours as spam.

Thanks all for persevering. I hope this is the end of the trouble. I'm still irked that they accused and continue accusing BadWeB of spamming.

Well ya know one man's spam is another man's dinner ;+}.

I'm sure someone used it to justify their existence. Comcast already has their tit in the ringer with the FCC over other issues and they might be using this to take the attention away from that. It's a sad state of affairs when BWB gets it's name soiled so some IT security tech can clear his.

Blake thanks for all the help.
