Bodean, I have one, #274 in showroom condition. I have all the original add ons that were for sale back in 2000 like the axle sliders. I have the race kit on it with the Vance and Hines pipe. PM wheels instead of the white, jet coated headers from the X1M. I have over 30,000 miles on it and right now its in the shop getting new gaskets, piston rings, tires, brake pads $$$$ for another 30,000 I don't have the nifty saddle bags like you though!

yeah yeah don't look like you could put much in them! I found some over the saddle bags a long time ago that were original bags for the X1 as well. There is another guy over here in my neck of the woods that has an Racing Stripe too. #4 was on the showroom floor with mine when I bought it. So I think only 3 in Maryland K |

back in 2000 I waited for 2000 to roll around for so long, it's hard for me to comprehend that it was a long time ago. |

Ill bet I have seen about five in the last 3 years sold for stripping, or getting stripped out for chopper build. I think I have seen about 5 die. At least one went over seas either for take down or something else not sure. My guess is that their wont be many left around. |

Court says Racing stripes were made after the GT-40 Ford hotrod. He showed a picture of a roadster here is a link on a different version GT-40 K http://www.podnova.com/channel/43092/episode/50/ |

Jim, the racing stripe came out with the X1M Millenium in 2000. They were called the Lucky Devils. I had the X1M, another story, and have the Lucky Devils poster from Milwaukee. I had Eric Buell sign it. Both bikes are numbered series. The X1M is more rare than the racing stripe, according to the last Fuell mag only 661 X1Ms were produced. Let see if Court has any corrections on my last 2 posts... K |

Kathleen: I may have mis-read your post but, in 1999 there were Blue with white stripe X1's and in 2000 there were Red with white stripe X1's. Both years were known as "Race Stripes" both with gas caps that were engraved with their limited edition number. A little bit of trivia: 99' race stripes the stripes were different widths. 00' race stripes had stripes of equal widths (see my first picture above). BTW it is hard to tell but the fly screen on my X1 is signed by Erik. BMC sent that to me after I purchased the 00' model. I still have not been able to track down the person responsible but, I will thank them again: Thank you, whom ever you are. I still have that fly screen in my garage. Later Neil S. |

Neil, I always wondered about the different stripes that's how I found out about the design after the GT-40, I was talking about the 2000 bikes. Hi Court! K |

Neil: I have some of the photos somewhere from the day you "baby sat" my "baby". You were FAR more responsible than the last two yahoos I left him with (Mssrs Haughton and Buell) and at least when you returned him I didn't get the "Dad, you know how fast these things will go?" talk . . . That was some seriously nasty weather that day! |

Neil, sweet bike! I'll post some pictures of my X1 when I get it home. I don't have a whole lot of pictures of it. The one above with the other Buell rider was from 2005 with me on it from a Fuell Mag photo man at a BRAG event K |

Guys got the X1 out of the shop. Started to ride it to work about 19 miles one way down 95. Uly in for the 5K service, and the X1 is now hard to start. I have to hold the throttle slightly open for cold starts then the fuel injection check light comes on Took it back to the shop last Saturday I know they installed a new fuel pump on it I'm thinking either they need to tweak the pump or idle. Meanwhile back on the Uly |
