IF these are the same H-D engineers that worked on the VR1000, it's a good thing they didn't get a shot... |

Ferris, do a little digging around on BadWeb. The whole story is here. The V-Rod engine was SUPPOSED to be for Buell, but Harley decided they wanted to use it in a heavy weight power cruiser and by the time their engineers were done with it, it was too damned big and heavy for Erik's purposes. So Harley got the Revolution engine, and gave Erik permission to pursue a water-cooled engine from Rotax. |

"As for the "refer-a-friend", our sales department will spiff a customer if they bring someone in (they must accompany them on their initial visit) who subsequently buys a bike. It's not a crazy amount of money, but it's good for the dealership and good for the customers who are enthusiastic about our products and service. " That is great but the HD dealer that I live closest to and do the most business with will not bring the Buell line back since dropping it when the XB's came out. Its hard to get people to drive an hour and a half to take a demo ride even with Buells gifts that it gives. I may try dropping off a couple issues of Fuell to the dealer and see if I can get that Buell flame burning again. I recall talking to the owner when their new building was being built and he was disappointed about the dirt project too. We talked about why they dropped the line and the 1125r. He told me about a track day they did for the dealers at Watkins Glen years ago when they were a dealer and I told him about Mid-Ohio and the Inside Pass days. My vision for BMC is to be an equal complement to the HD brand. BMC should be everything that HD is not and cover the whole range of powersports. So to Erik and everyone else at HD/BMC if you build it, we will buy it. Because WE LOVE BUELLS. |

I dont remember anyone saying dealer cant come to homecoming. Homecoming is for people who like Buells, which rules out most of the dealers. |

Fireman Jim, whoever told you there was never a dirt bike was full of it. That's truly disappointing to hear, and I cannot imagine why they would say that. It's a lie to begin with, and it's really disrespectful to the team who put in huge effort over a couple of years and had a really cool product on the way. You are sure it was someone from Buell and not another visitor? |

Doesnt really matter if there ever was a program for the development of it. We will never see it, nor will I get to ride the hell out of it. Which if you arent/cant/wont/didnt deliver product to customer, then really; did it exist? Over all the announcements of new models (1125R, XB12Stt, XB12Xt, XL1200N, FXCWC, FXDF, FLSTSB) That got all hype, that was the ONE I wanted, and would have paid for. |

>>>>We will never see it, That's an inaccurate statement. You'll love it. It's no "just another" dirt bike. Time will tell. |

By the way . . . no one from Buell is going to relate anything of confidence and some revel in relating "something" and seeing how long it takes to get to the Internet. Closest guess wins a free lunch. |

I would guess but I'm not sure I followed what I should be guessing about >>>>It's a lie to begin with, and it's really disrespectful to the team who put in huge effort over a couple of years Years??? This thing had to be close to done then, Right??? >>>> You'll love it. It's no "just another" dirt bike. Court you suck, ONLY because I wish I knew what you know. BUT I do think you are correct in saying I'll love it when I see it. |

I seem to remember a comment that they would be cut and put in a dumpster before they ever saw the light of day. I think that would be more of an insult to the design team than saying they never existed. |

I heard that Shawn Grigsby jumped a protoype over 3 Uly's, nose to tail, and it cracked into 3 pieces. So they took what was left and made a new Blast for 09! |

Well, if you think you were disappointed you have nothing on the folks who worked on it. But there was no "suckering" or lying involved. Just a decision to stop a program that was going full bore. Yes the dirt bike program existed, and was well along before it was put on hold. I think the quote was the bikes would be cut up before they would be given out to those of you who said "We'll take them." Do you think the folks who worked on the dirt program didn't want them, and that perhaps some of them were at least as qualified to get them? And taht they maybe are/will be riding them in secret? So ending programs or putting them on hold is not more of an insult than saying they never existed. Not even close. |

The blast for 09 looks feels, smells and runs like it did for 08, I have one on the floor right now. In new exciting BLACK With gas prices, I dont expect it to make it through the weekend. |

The XT was the one I wanted and had been asking for. I bought one. I'm happier than a Tornado in a Trailer Park! Maybe they'll build your dirt bike too! Ya never know... |

I never understood that. Grew up in Tornado alley, I always wondered why they would put them together in parks like that, seemed like setting up bowling pins just to knock them down again. "Maybe they'll build your dirt bike too! Ya never know..." I am on to building my own. |
