He's putting the team through hell. He should have made a decision months ago. He had it made...retired but yet still be payed. If I was the Packer, I'd tell him to go to hell. Brett is just still mad that my Pats got Randy Moss and he didn't. My 2c. |

He was on the news last night, channel 6 here in Milwaukee. Sounds a little like indecision, frustration, redirection, moving on, hanging on, and other stuff on both sides of the situation. Brett did say that if he wasn't going to be 100% committed then he didn't want to play (if I understood correctly). He said that he could have been 100% at some point, might have been in training camp, or by the first game, or by mid-season, but that if he didn't feel like he was going to be 100% then he didn't want to play. He did say he asked if he could wait until training camp to make a decision and then said the management didn't want to wait that long for his decision. But I'm not him, I'm not management, so ignore everything I just typed. There's probably more about the interview in the local paper, www.jsonline.com . |

He said, "I wanted to wait until training camp to make my decision" Huh? by then the Packers should already have their team set. Training Camp is 3 months past the draft. He's a baby. The best QB to play the game in my opinion, but a huge baby at this point. He is not bigger than the GB Packers. No player is. If it were up to me I'd trade him to an AFC team that the Packers won't play in Lambeau for 3 years. |

My take is that he loves the game so much that he just isn't ready to hang up the helmet yet. It's kind of all he's focused on for the most part career-wise and I can only imagine what goes through his mind when he contemplates the dreaded "retirement". I'd love to have his money and be retired, I'd be so busy I wouldn't have time to be bored. But when a life is intently focused on one primary thing, football in this case, I imagine it is a big hurdle to just walk away from it. I don't see him being happy running a restaurant. I could see him running a football camp. Maybe an Outward Bound sort of thing, or something along the lines of Bart Star's Rawhide Ranch. I just hope this doesn't turn into a train wreck. |

There are some Tampa Rumors but they would have to give up a lot to get him.. That would be great and he's got good history with Gruden having worked together in the 90's |

I heard today that he may end up in Packer's camp. What's really interesting is that he's supposed to be up in Green Bay this weekend for Frank Winter's Hall of Fame dinner. |

Yeah, that dinner was in the news yesterday or the day before, and there was concern that Brett's presence might detract from the reason for the dinner. |

What a relief...this thread's title had me a tad concerned re: alternative lifestyle hobbyists... |

I don't think he will play when it comes right down to it,unless he is the starter for the Packers. |

If he does play it will be like Montanna at the Chiefs. A footnote. |

If he plays elsewhere he'll greatly tarnish his career. He doesn't want that... I just can't see that. He needs to either start or retire with the Packers. Ted Thompson has built one hell of a young team and he wants it to move forward with a young good QB. He has that in Rogers if he stays healthy.... I don't see that long term. Favre has one two season's left thats it. Then Green Bay may have passed its window to a possible Super Bowl. |

1+ for Bads1. First Favre sells everybody that he is retired then with in six weeks he changes his mind, calls the Packers and they bend over backwards to get him set for the minicamps and such then when the coach and the GM are set to fly to Kiln, Favre calls and renigs on the whole thing saying that he is retired for good not ever gonna play pro ball again. Then he pulls this crap, let the Vikings have him and see how they feel when the fall camp comes around and the old fart blows off the other side of the fence...again. But I still say he was the BEST EVER to play the game. |

Enjoyed the way he played the game best, big fan but No 4 is tied at No 4 on my list. Turnovers. Montana Marino Young BF tied with Elway. Kelly. Brady has the numbers to be in the mix when all's done too. |
