Civil discussion is good on most any subject IMHO : )

When I was wee lad I was allowed to drink a kinder brew -- malty sweet deal, but I can't recall the name. Great stuff too.

Sitting at The Patton in Garmisch slinging back Asbach and dunkel weiss with me boys : )

When we were in Germany, we crossed over into the Czech republic. They were still in transition from the end of the cold war.

It was a surreal experience. The towns looked *identical* to the German towns, except they had about 2 decades of communist grime and neglect built up on them. All of which many Czechs were working very hard in every way to clean up. I really liked the town and the people. Got a really good steak as well! : )

On the way out, we got a couple cases of *real* budwieser, the original Czech stuff. Very good beer, but I don't think we had a bad beer the whole trip (including the beer we got in a styrofoam cup in a local McDonalds).

Those Czechs make some *fine* firearms. It's a shame their motorcycle business is suffering. I bet they could produce some pretty fine bikes with a little capital.

Give them time, the odds are very strong that Jawa will be offering some excellent , bigger displ. 4 -strokes, in the near-future.

As to their arms: yep- they manufactured the finest AK going, for some time, and the CZ handgun series, while essentially Beretta knock-offs, are wonderful.

One other thing the Czech towns have more of: prewar (esp. gothic) architecture, due to fewer bombings, there.

Prague's storied gothic spires stand as a memorial to an ancient age of the continent.

My wife and I went to the gothic cathedral in Kutná Hora (St. Barbara Church, I think?). We were the only people there. We had to walk, and it was raining out... one of my best memories from the trip. That was right after visiting the Sedlec Ossuary, or the Bone Chapel. The Czech Replublic rocks. And now I have relatives there!
