I agree.
The problem is the erroneous assumption that the T-Shirt isn't forthcoming. |

Seems to me that ebear should send the shirt, boney95 should be patient (it's just a shirt) as ebear could have a reason he hasn't sent it, ie; sick dead computer, death in family. I don't know either one but if all these people know ebear, why haven't they talked to him about it? |

A few weeks ago a stripper promised me she'd do "whatever I wanted" in the champagne room.
don't remember asking for blue b*lls, but that was all I got.

There is sex in the champagne room, you just need the correct sized tip $$$.
I would think that two and a half months is enough time to wait. He was busting his balls about it but it wasn't a nasty personal attack.
Give the kid a break he is only 20 after all. |

I understand you guys are defending a friend, and I appreciate that, but I think the attacks on Boney are out of proportion to his statements.
I think 2+ months is a reasonable amount of time to follow through on shipping out a shirt. I understand why Boney is frustrated, assuming he is being honest about his unanswered emails and PMs.
I hope Ebear is OK and there is no serious reason that Boney's attempts to communicate with him have gone unanswered.
I don't doubt the many kind things that have been said about Ebear in his defense. The personal attacks upon Boney reflect more negatively to me on the ones making them than they do on Boney himself, however.
Just my outsider's opinion. |

By the way . . . I am not defending a friend, I am stating substantial fact based on my personal experience.
I've not said a bad word, nor do I have one about Boney.
He handled this very poorly.
Again . . that if fact, not "defending a friend".
One of the problems I have have with Badweb and any internet discussion is that any disparity of opinion is seen as an insult.

And we also don't know the tone Bony took in his PMs either. Not saying they were not proper but none of us knows what may be in the background on this. On either side. I do know Eric is a stand up guy however. |

Jim (Damnut), you and some others are apparently confused about this core issue. The issue is not that anyone thinks that Eric is excused from not following through on his free shirt offer. He absolutely should. That is not the issue of contention that got me involved here.
The issue of contention is that it is absolutely 100% unacceptable for anyone to wage such miserable derisive personal attack here on BadWeB, especially over such a petty insignificant matter. Period.
The thoughtful and honorable (the only acceptable approach on BadWeB) means to broach such concerns publicly on BadWeB do NOT include posting a thread for all the world to see entitled "BadWeb-Ebear, A Man Without His Word...", the original title of the thread at issue, but rather to offer a polite public reminder/inquiry within the applicable thread.
The type of thinking that "I emailed and PM'd EBear but got no response so now I'll proclaim to all the world that EBear's word is no good" is vindictive, hateful and entirely unthoughtful. The fact that such a tactic was launched concerning the offer of a free T-Shirt makes it ludicrous. That the offender probably should have excluded himself from the contest in the first place, the truly honorable thing to do in my view, further colors the issue of honor and who here is seen most lacking it.
But the bottom line is that my intervention is simply in keeping with upholding BadWeB's terms of use and helping to remind those who may forget their agreement to honor our terms of use.

A strong record of impecably honorable behavior over the years happens to mean something to most thoughtful folk; it certainly means a heck of a lot more than a petty indignant accusation of a relative stranger.
But whether old timer or newbie has little bearing on the issue. The bottom line is that if you want to avoid being called a "jerk" by me or any other custodian here, then simply honor our terms of use as agreed when you signed up to participate here.
Calling someone a "jerk" is infinitely less derisive than to associate their name with a statement like "BadWeB EBear, A Man Without his Word", the original title of Boney's thread attacking Eric.
