I just wanted to say to those of you that didn't go, shame on you! You missed out, and let me tell you why......

First off, I was impressed at how smoothly everything went. Trying to get more than two Buellers to do ANYTHING at the same time is harder than herding cats, but Laura Scherr really pulled it off. Hats off to her! She's a smart cookie and a sweetheart to boot. Everyone that went should send her a thank you card.

The group ride to the factory was great fun. It's always really cool to be in a group of several hundred Buells. If you haven't experienced that before, I suggest you make plans to come along next year.

So we got to the factory at about noon I think. Erik, bless him, was already under a pop-up signing autographs. The poor guy was out there signing all afternoon long. He stayed until there was no one left in line. It speaks for itself.

So next we head to the host hotel for the dinner and Q&A. The dinner was EXCELLENT. Roast Beef and Chicken, num num num.

After dinner Erik, Jon, Henry, Kim, Steve, and David (?) got up on the dias and gave us a little presentation about the early days, along with a slide show with a bunch of pictures from the farm and the building in Mukwonago. It was very informative and interesting.

There was a Q&A after that. I wish it was longer, but I also wish it wasn't used as an opportunity to launch dealer rants. My opinion, but if you want to bitch or get up on a soapbox, send a letter. The point of it was to learn more about the beginning of Buell.

After that of course was the shindig at the Boiler Room, but I was pretty wiped out so I didn't go. Maybe someone else can talk about that.

Friday morning I headed up to Road America for the racing. James Gang/Hoban Brothers and Richie Morris Racing won their prospective classes in the ASRA team challenge, which was fun to see. Dan Bilansky continued to whoop ass all weekend with the 1125R in Thunderbike and Supper Twins, so that was a lot of fun to watch.

There's a lot I didn't cover, but I think it's safe to say that this is the first Homecoming I went to that was impossible to do everything! Maybe someone else can talk about the Trackday at Blackhawk and the adventure ride on Friday, since I didn't do either of them.

Again, big thanks to everyone that put the whole thing on, especially Erik, Jon Flick, and Laura Scherr!

+1,000 for Laura. She did a hell of a job putting together a seamless event, at multiple locations. That's tough stuff to pull off.

As an example of how well it went...my wife, who was, shall we say, reluctant to go with me to the event, caught me off guard at Summerfest by saying "this is the most fun I've ever had - we need to do this again next year".

wha.....? Funny, you *look* like my wife...LOL.

Laura, you rock. And rest easy, when I complimented you to Erik at the Tiki, he was beaming like a proud dad and said "I know, I've been hearing that a lot the last couple days". Great work, kid.

Yes +100000 to Laura. She and her team of elves did a FANTASTIC job.

And she did it all with a smile on her face

I never saw anything but a smile on her face. Not only that, I saw her go the extra mile on several occasions for things she really didn't have to do.

I have to agree, great job Laura! You and your crew did an outstanding job making it all
go as smoothly as it can while attempting to keep so many Buell owners happy and occupied.
(kind of like herding cats!)

Also, the Buell owners from the area did an outstanding job of making us feel at home!

Yes! Laura and all of the staff at Buell did an outstanding job all weekend long!

I was so tired on Sunday afternoon that while I was waiting for race #21, I just sat down in the Buell tent and watched as the crew took down the tent and loaded up all the demo bikes in the trailer. I had no idea that it was so involved with all the equipment and bikes. There were quite a group running around getting all packed up. I was glad I didn't have to do it since I was so exhausted from all the weekend's activities.

once again, Thanks Buell! already looking forward to next years homecoming!
