You should be able to take your VIN to the dealer, along with some other ownership papers (proving you own said bike) and they can order replacement(s) for you.

Has anyone hot wired their Buell before or know how too and can tell me how? I cant get a key till after this weekend and i want to ride. Is it too risky with all the electronics?

Bring your registration and picture ID to the dealership (must prove bike is yours, of course). They can order a set of keys from Buell. They may be able to put in for a down vehicle and have them expedited faster than normal. Two weeks is about the normal wait on keys, as they are made per order.

WTF- I go to a jap bike dealer with my key code and they cut one on the spot.

A true locksmith should be able to help, but will cost you.

There is a thread around here that tells you a generic key that can be used for the blank.

I had that same panic attack the other day. Couldn't find my only factory key. The local dealer told me the same thing, about two weeks. AAHHHHH!! Remembered I had a non factory blank I'd had cut and had used it a little when I had the bike before I got the proper key. Found it and took off to Dalton Ga, 30 miles or so. On the way back, my fuel light came on and I stopped for gas. That's when I learned that key will not fit the fuel cap. Then, fortunately, I learned I can go at least 18 miles with the light on.
I finally found my key in a pair of jeans I had worn, all washed and dried and ready to go.
I guess I will remember to go order a key the next time I lose it.
Rotzaruck!

CorporateMonkey told me that the XB key blank is the same as that found on the mid 1980's Volvo 240 models. Before I sold the XB9S I found a key kiosk at the local shopping center that had the blank and would cut it for $10. YMMV.

Oh, I forgot the XB's have the blade style key. I was thinking of the HD barrel keys. Those are a little harder to come by.

Did you buy the bike new? if so ,is the dealer you bought it from close by?
The reason I ask, is because when I bought my bike, they handed me 2 keys. I was unable to take the bike home at the time, so I pocketed 1 key, and stuck the other in the ignition so they would be able to move it. When I came back to pick it up, there were 2 keys on the ring in the ignition...giving me a total of 3 keys.

I don't know how many keys the dealer gets when they receive a bike, but if they only gave you 2, they may have another sitting around.
