..Speaking of which, i have some Blue Knights colours I'm about to launch on shEbay: a vest w/run patches and a rear rocker (BK Prospect??!??!)...and a member T -Shirt with full colours & name down each sleeve. If anyone here would like a crack at them, before I she-bay 'em, please let me know. They came off of a tough-guy who was mouthing off too much in the bar, one night, and, NO, he was NOT a cop. I used to keep a wall of shame of "bad" patches in the place, and one uncooked BK Broiler made the grade, unfortunately. Most of 'em are really nice guys. | ||

Absolutely- I agree 1%. Believe me, the knucklehead who wore this regalia never got his Blue Knights patch, and was quickly shunned by the group. Law-breaking would be antithetical to the BK creed. | ||

Can't stand people who have to pretend to be something they're not. Saw it a lot in Fayetteville, NC with people dressed up like Green Berets. We'd get two or three news reports every year of guys found behind bars, beaten and wearing only their skivvies. Seems the real SF guys caught up with them | ||

there's STILl waaaaaaaaayyyy too much of that these days: ever notice how every older vet you meet in a bar was delta/SF/SeAL/USMC-Recon, etc.? What happened to all the cooks and mechanics? I get the biggest charge outta hearing these assclowns sounding off at bars...next time you encounter this, just toss one of 'em your jacket and ask him to square it away. Easy 'nuff most of the time 2 catch 'em in the lie: -SF = Ask 'em 'bout Q course -SEAL = Ask 'em 'bout dive tables -Ranger = Ask 'em which Bat & Winter or Summer -Recon = Ask 'em ARC or BRC -Anyone who has diarhea of the mouth claiming "Black Ops" is so full of it that it ain't worth even trying to argue with them. A "deer in the headlights" response flags the person as a straight up liar in my book. The look on my brother-in-law's face was PRICELESS since I can't stand him anyways. "I was a Ranger and was in Combat in the Gulf." Really? I find that hard to believe in a 22 yr old. Which Bat? "Huh?" Which Ranger Batallion? "7th" BUZZZ! I was one of the most powerful people on both of my ships......... I was the HVAC tech, I controlled which zones on the ship got how much air conditioning  Very few mouthed off to me after their chill water coil got tagged out for maintenance...in the IO and word leaked out why their A/C was having issues.  | ||

My dad was serving his country proudly during WWII. Tried to get into flight training and instead finished the war as a clerk typist. Got him GI Bill bennies, got him his PhD. I'm sure he used that as a cover story for all the hyper/ultra/mondo secret work he did personally for "wild Bill Donovan" and the OSS. He must have taken that "secret" to his grave. | ||

problem w/asking about bat.s. etc., or where a "ranger" was tabbed,is that many of the serial jerkoffs are huge buffs, and they read all that sh1t in their armchair commando novels, or in soldier of fiction magazine. That's why i really like the jacket trick. | ||

Not meaning to continue the 'thread jack' .. But I once ran into a guy in '85. An old buddy of mine and I were talking about my father and uncle when he just chimed in (uninvited of course) .. He was a Marine. Like my father he was 'Cho-Sen Few'.. He probably helped train my uncle since he was a "Special (super secret squirrel) Operations DI" and all 'Chosen Few' had to go through that training before they were issued their special Glock .44 Magnums.. My buddy, was Navy in the Nam. And damn proud of being brown water - certified, shat on and dunked - as he put it. He almost killed this douche canoe .. Since it wouldn't have been kosher to make me work up a sweat over a guy that was insulting my family.. (good friends like that are hard to come by) The trip outside started when the 'D/C' commented on how cool it was that he'd heard me say my uncle was still on patrol, at Cho-Sen, Lots of good times with those guys.. or something like that... Well, after that my buddy grabbed this kid by the neck and dragged him out the back door of the place before I could turn around a do something... Inside the place that might have been.. uh.. messy.. .. Nuff Said... | ||

I live in Columbus, Georgia. You would not believe the number of pimply faced recruits dressed in civvies on their first leave from basic that tell me they are 'Rangers'. Every now then, one of them is found in a crumpled heap with his teeth knocked out... that usually signifies 'Rangers were here'. | ||

Just to clarify: SF is a primarily advisory role, involving the training of indigenous troops/insurgents. Many are active SF troop has never directly spilled blood. bear in mind, as well, that many active soldiers with non-combat MOS wear SF unit insignia, albeit without crests or tabs, even though they may actually serve in a clerical, QM, etc., capacity. This is especially true of reserve SF detachments such as the 11th. Same is true of ranger bat.s Further, there exist DOD personnel who have completed BUDs, Q-course, etc., and wear NO US insignia. SF, ranger, etc. unit/div. insignia do Not mean the bearer is/was a combat soldier, and many combat SFers have served in a strictly advisory capacity. Since the RDF era, a good set of SF, Delta and DOD advisors wear carhartts, ponytails and beards, and have civilian jobs overseas. | ||

Here is the actual verbiage of the first line of the SF Mission: 1. "To seek out, train and support men capable of becoming effective guerillas" Did Uncle "Roy" serve under Wild Bill Donovan with the OSS, in the 1940s, or did her serve under Col. Aaron Bank, w/the 10th, sometime after '52, through gen. McClure's office? I have to presume Roy served alongside Czechs and Poles, such as sgt.s Mazak, Reinitzer, Novak & Ettman, or Austrian ski instructors such as Edald Duttlinger, Alois Freidmantz, being he was, as you say..."...there at the very beginning." Did he wear one of the first pairs of Kastingers contracted by the Bad Tolz Boys?
