Came on a parts bike KLR-250 I bought, and in spite of appearences (and missing bits), the bike ran really well for the brief testing I could give it...

Any idea what it is? Worth trying to use on a KLR-250? I don't really need it, I have the stock KLR-250 carb (Keihin CVK34 I think).

Without seeing any pictures, I'm going to guess their names are Shinjo & Tanaka-san.

Of course, pictures would help.

No discernable choke or fuel enricher on the thing, FWIW. May be long gone, perhaps was never there in the first place.

Somebody tell me this is a priceless original part from a Vincent, and not a piece of junk from a 1978 XR150. : )

OK, here's what I think I know. It's a constant velocity carb that was typically used on mild performance "trail" bikes when smog was a concern vs. MX bikes that are to be used only in closed course racing (yeah, that's where I ride mine). A pretty common item so it's not worth a fortune but parts are still readily available.

Don't mistake the diaphragm slide for another- those old CVs are wonderful, they'll make a Tri/BSA 250 a new machine!
You have any better shots of the strikings?

It is a C.V. carb but probably from a Honda 450, from late 60's.

The choke butterfly is long gone, its shaft went in the hole in the mouth of the carb.

I would use it to jump-start an indy effort at a Mystery Science theater 3000 series, and stick with Danger_dave's name, "Kelvin"....
maybe construct a striped, feline character out of old wire-wheel centers, and call your iteration "Kelvin & Hubs...4000"

If anybody has a need for it let me know, I think I am going to stick with the stock carb.

How does it differ from the stocker?
It may be wise to keep on hand and clean up/rebl'd.
