Some George Carlin Quotes

Ever notice when you blow in a dog’s face he gets mad at you, but when you take him in a car he sticks his head out the window?

Ever notice that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster than you is a maniac?

If the “black box” flight recorder is never damaged during a plane crash, why isn’t the whole damn airplane made out of that shit?

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Carlin was the best. There was a sitcom he did a number of years back that didn't make it, but was hilarious (I can't remember the name - anyone?).

I remember watching him on TV in my college days and laughing so hard I cried.

He will be missed. RIP.

Wow, sad news.

Irideabuell- The George Carlin show http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108785/

More than once I've been given the compliment of being told that I think like him, too bad I'm no where near that talented.

I remember when I was 12 (1972), my friend Mike & I scraped our allowances together and bought George Carlin's FM/AM album at Korvettes. We hid it until my Mom went shopping so we could listen to it.
Two days later, our Moms finally went shopping together, we dug out the album from it's hiding place in the attic above the garage and played it on my Dad's audiophile stereo system (I wasn't allowed to touch it if he wasn't supervising), we went into comical bliss. When it got to his 5 minute bit on the word "Sh*T" we were laughing so hard we fell on the floor & couldn't catch our breath. When I finally stopped laughing & opened my eyes, there was Mom standing above us. I don't remember the punishment, but it was worth it.
I still have that album, time to pull it out and play it again...RIP George

The world has lost one of the most original wits and obeservational comics ever to stride onto a stage. He was the master of the manipulated word.. Which one you ask? All of them.

George also did a show called apt 212c or something like that on cable several (15?)years back
that I really enjoyed, while it lasted.

George was great, but he was never (and never wanted to be) mainstream.

George, you will be missed

RIP George Carlin:

"The whole problem with this idea of obscenity and indecency, and all of these things — bad language and whatever — it's all caused by one basic thing, and that is: religious superstition," Carlin told the AP in a 2004 interview. "There's an idea that the human body is somehow evil and bad and there are parts of it that are especially evil and bad, and we should be ashamed. Fear, guilt and shame are built into the attitude toward sex and the body. ... It's reflected in these prohibitions and these taboos that we have."

RIP, dude.

He was of the same caliber as Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor and- heck, can't remember his name, the guy who once was a Pentecostal preacher but turned into a sensational comedian.

They all passed too soon.

Heck, Tim Russert and George Carlin in the same month?

Godspeed, y'all.

Hey all- as it turns out, Terry Gross on National Public Radio (NPR) is doing a retrospective RIGHT NOW on her show, Fresh Air.

Tune in if you can, or get the podcast, or whatever.

We saw his show here in January. It was great, and I'm glad I got to see him before he passed. He really told it like it was...

A world without George Carlin is hard to imagine.

Who's going to tell it like it is and air out all the pc bs if not him?

We have not only lost a great comedian,
we have also lost one of the last bearers of truth who never let fancy words and phrases beguile him. : (

You knew it was good, and funny when your parents yelled at you to turn that Shi@t down or off. His was the first album I got introuble for. Ted Nugent and Cheech & Chong didnt help either
I always thought that he would have made a better God than George Burns did in that John Denver movie.

Wild stallions tribute tonite in GC's honor. Rest in Peace Rufus

Thanks Miamiuly. That show was great and wasn't aired long enough in my opinion.

Carlin is one of my favorites, I will miss his style of humor.
