Hey guys, I am going to be getting my TT next week and wanted some input from those with hands on experience. First off, I would like to change the seat to either the touring or sport model. Anybody familiar with either/both? Also, I get mixed opinions on the jet-hot coating for the header pipes and muffler(which will be a spec-ops piece). What I need to know is how well it holds up, what you paid, and if it really helps with the heat. Thanks for the input in advance!-Brad

l bought the touring seat for the wife and l at the end of last year. This is the first season we've got to use it. lt's hard compared to the OEM seat and about an inch lower. lt rides better than expected, though, and the wife likes the more neutral position. She also likes sitting up a little higher, too. Definitely takes away the pressure of her leaning against me over the long hauls. l switch back to the OEM when going solo. Good luck.

I have no desire to ride a passenger, sounds like maybe you prefer the stock seat for yourself.

I'm running a Jethot coated header. I personally think it is cooler on my leg than the stock stainless header. I did it mainly for looks, but the temp drop was a plus. I got mine thru Al at Am Sportbike, been awhile, but I think he offers a trade in option. He bills you a core charge, plus the coating fee, when you send him your good pipe he refunds the core charge. Saves down time. Double check with Al first.

I didn't have my Odie pipe coated as it is mostly hidden under the chin spoiler.

I got just the SS stock seat and the STT stock seat. Out of those 2, I tend to like the SS seat better, I can ride longer with it. The STT seat looks better, so it wins for bike nights. I will be getting the touring seat soon to try that out.

For myself - yes. +1 for the stock seat.

The wife and l rode to Boise, ID last year on the stocker and shagged the already worn tires in the process. Pulled into the Buell/HD dealer there for a "Walmart" priced set of 208's and the service manager looked at me with contempt and said, "You rode all the way here on a Buell?!". l said, pointing to my wife, "Yep! And that pretty girl over there was on the back." He says, "Your F-in nuts! Let me sell you a Dresser off the floor and you might keep her." She looked up and said, "No way! l love this bike!" Dang, she's good!

Too bad we didn't live closer. l'd let you guys try the tourer out to see if you liked it before you bought.

What Froggy said. Dual seat's more comfy & a tad lower, solo seat looks the nuts.
