Did anyone else notice something missing on the front cover?

Like a 1125R?

I noticed, but I have a hard time getting that upset about it.

The Ducati 1098 (non R version) was already WAY outclassed in what they were testing for. Even the $30k 1098R was struggling to keep up with the $10k GSXR-1000.

I think the only reason the Duc was there in the first place is to make the other bikes that beat it look inexpensive.

I was more disappointed to not see it in the ten best writeup, but if your press fleet bikes won't start in the morning, you can't expect to be picked for the 10 best, so fairs fair.

Please see the "Do Buells Suck" thread below.

Like Reep said, if the press fleet bikes don't start, run like doo doo at low rpm, and die in traffic, it's going to be a tough year in the magazine reviews.

I got bumped by a killer shot. Draft:

The local press fleet was fine. It had 5 techs travelling with it too.

I just got home the the mag is here. The article looks to be about acceleration, and the standard 1098 doesn't fair so well. Probably best that the 1125 isn't in there. It's not designed for max acceleration and HP, it's designed for rideability.

I rode a ZX10R last week at the track and, believe it or not, you can feel the extra 35 horsepower at the back wheel. Not real fun to try to control the damn thing in turns, it was violently powerful, unlike the 1125 which is totally linear and controllable.

I'd rather see the 1125 compared to a 1098 than a GSXR or ZX10.

I love how Kawasaki has felt it important to maintain, after all these years, the reputation of having hairy motors (yes, I know....they are really engines). Only Japanese make I can get my head around.

I agree 4cammer. I had a KZ1000, ZX11, and ZX9R. All great engines that kicked butt.

I still LOVE my 05 ZX10R, but the uly is fun around town and off the beaten path.

The 10r motor is sick, it is my first kawi, though I owned a zx11 as second bike before the uly.

I couldn't make it to the inside pass sadly, but I bet the 1125 would be a blast on the track.

I wanted to take the 10r to the inside pass and then ride the 1125.

That is an awesome shot Dave, I suppose that is you on the 1125 in one of the three small shots inlaid on the cover.

The shot that got bumped.

The 10r motor is sick

Yeah, wanna feel torque- it's there, wanna feel screaming high rpm acceleration- it's there. "Sick" pretty much covers that engine.

Yeah - Those KTMs are light huh!

Me in the smaller shot.
I was never going to get the cover - not while I'm designing it anyway.

I make a Uly look like a 250 - I look silly on a 1125r. Cross I bear. ; )

Got some usable front ons, but most of the mag shots will be statics (got some killers) and actions shots of the knee downers we'll lift off the press kit.
