The KCMOB and SLAB are invading Arkansas this coming weekend (Sept 19, 20, and 21st). Anyone interested in joining us is more than welcome. I know it is short notice, but the more the merrier!

We are going to set up base at the Iron Horse Stables near Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The KCMOB is camping there for the weekend. Here is the info:

Iron Horse Stables
4033 Hwy 62W
Berryville, AR 72616
1-479-253-0440
www.ironhorsestables.com

The Members of SLAB will be getting rooms at:

Wagner Inn
Hwy 62, East
3064 E. Van Buren
Eureka Springs, AR 72632
1.800.235.7639

The plan is:

Arrive in the Eureka Springs area sometime around 5 or 6. (Heather and I should be arriving mid afternoon, if anyone is interested in arriving earlier) Ride a bit and find a nice place to eat. Saturday we are planning on riding all day. This should included Push mountain Rd and several others that our tour guides Shazam, Frank, and Racerboy have put together. Sunday Ride, get lunch, and head home.

I know its short notice, but if anyone is interested in joining us please email myself or Shazam. We'll get you our home and cell numbers to help with any accomodations that we can.

Keith

The route for Saturday will run south from Eureka to Jasper then over to marshall and up to mountain home and through forsythe back to Eureka, hopefully we will be leaving early enough on Sat. to make the Ferry crossing well before 6:00pm....

These are some of the best roads in N. Ark.

This is a ride you will not want to miss if you can help it. the scenery is outstanding and the twisties just keep coming..... anyone is welcome, we are camping in Eureka, and I think hotels are still available in the immediate area. this will be a full days ride. and you can set your own pace...

Please join us if your interested.....

I think I've got a touch of a bug. Maybe what BOb had a couple weeks back. If I make it I make it. Gotta quit feelin' queasy and feverish first. No...not do to alcohol consumption this time.

I hope you guys had a nice time. The weather here Friday and Saturday (a little South of your planned route) was fantastic and it never rained on Sunday, contrary to appearances. I appreciate Gravediggers' invitation to join you and thought about driving up in the cage Friday afternoon. But it was so nice I wanted to get some local "wheel time" in. Too much of newbie here to venture very far, but that will change!

Forgot to let everyone know how things went in Arkansas.

We had a great time. Heather and I arrived in KC on Thursday night and stayed with our gratious host, Shazam. Upon arrival several of the members of the MOB met with us at KC Masterpiece for BBQ and a couple . Our gratious host Shazam even gave up his bed for us, and slept in his guest bedroom. Afterwards the thought of sleeping in Sams defiled bed, well it made me kinda. Just kidding buddy!

Friday Morning, we stopped in Central HD to bend Franks ear. Afterwards Heather and I headed south towards arkansas. We stopped in Springfield IL to Check out Bass Proshop. Cool place, hadn't been there in years.

Heather and I arrived at the Iron Horse Stables well ahead of everyone else and decided that we would go introduce ourselves to the area. Took a couple hour ride that included parts of 221, 62, 302, and 187. What a beautiful area!

Another small group headed from Kc about midafternoon and stopped in on the Joplin Dealership for an informal BBQ.

Sam (shazam) and a few others left KC when Frank (cyclone1) got off work at central.

Upon the Mobs arrival, the festivities began. We enjoyed a few beverages while awaiting our brothers from St. Louis. Sam and I decided that it was time to make sure they recieved a proper greeting. After some hooked on phonics analysis, we came to the conclusion that there were indeed the right letters to perform the task at hand.

They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. I will let everyone make thier own conclusion as to how Racerboy and V2Win accepted the altered marque.

Friday night was much colder than anyone had anticipated. Our camping huts felt more like refrigerators.
arkansas-6
The owner informed us the next morning that he was having heaters and AC installed for the next riding season. Wish there would have been heat this year!! Most of us were so cold in the morning that we turned the shower house into a steam room.

Grabbed some breakfast at the Iron Horse's Diner and discussed the upcoming ride. Great food!!! Sent Heather up to Branson for some shopping and we were on our way.

We took off for Saturdays ride. Stopped for our group pic.

Then off for some amazing riding!
Our route covered 123, 341, 160 and many others that I can't recall. In all we twisted 391 amazing miles! Big props to our route planner Shazam!!! We didn't have a whole lot of time for pics as we were really putting some miles behind us. We did have a few opportunities at gas stops and the ferry ride accross bull shoals lake.

Jason (wingman) checking his fluid levels.
arkansas-15
Sam checking out members of the "Booze Fighters" as they pulled away from a fuel stop.
arkansas-16
Sam (shazam), Neil (KCs2), Jason (boogacheck), John (V2WIN), Bob (Racerboy) and Richie (Richie150) at a fuel stop.

arkansas-9
Keith (keef), and Frank (cyclone1) waiting for the ferry crossing at bull shoals.

arkansas-12
Our motley crew crammed on the ferry with a few harley riders and cages.

Upon our return, some of us tore up the BBQ at the Iron Horse.

V2Win and Racerboy after dinner at the Iron Horse.

Then we decided it was time to do what Shazam likes to discribe as the 3 B's. Beer, Bullshit, and Bodka! Was a very amusing night.

Everyone got up Sunday morning, grabbed a nice breakfast and headed on home. I was a great weekend. Just wished that it didn't have to end!!

We did have a very small mechanical glitch but nothing that stopped our progress. (Sam cracked an exhaust header, I believe) Two small riding mishaps but none that left any bikes on thier sides and thier respective riders seeking medical attention. Couldn't ask for a better days ride.

Need to give credit where it is due! If anyone is headed to Arkansas, STAY AT THE IRON HORSE STABLES!!!!! They really really took care of us! They also have everything on site that you may need. The Food is excellent and very reasonably priced. The accomodations are very good and the Owner is just an awesome person! He even got a good laugh out of our drunken midnight change of his marque!

Anyone want to make this an event next year???

Keith
